A required read for those dealing with unaddressed trauma.
I purchased this book for a friend. At first I could not figure out how to offer the book to her, without offending her. Grace would have it; while visiting my home she saw the book and asked if she could borrow it Relieved, I said yes. Two weeks later she asked me if she could have it. I finally told her, it’s for you. Other than the yoga and the suggestion to mediate with in empty mind. I think the book is a good starting point to self reflection and healing. However I would be remise not to discourage the practice of yoga or anything remotely close to it. It’s evil, occultist, and contrary to Torah for those who believe. If you mediate think on these things Philippians 4:8

This is a MUST read.
This book has really made it clear in giving tips on how you can overcome trauma and other mental health issues you may have. It is well written, and even gives you references at the end for you to look up information. Thank you Alicia Magoro. 🥹

What I needed to hear/read
Y’all, run and get this book. She went in from the introduction. I can’t recall many books, that jump right in, but no time was wasted while reading this self help book and I loved it. As a black woman, I find it hard to express myself when I get upset and after reading this book, I can say I have a better handle on my reactions and my emotions. I’m more aware of what my emotions are telling me and how to move forward. I’ve learned of outlets to help myself relieve stress that I may not have considered before. This is a must read and a reread as many times as you need.

This is a great book written by author Alicia Magoro! Alicia writes about what Black women go through on a daily basis and how we are often misunderstood as the 'angry Black woman'! Yes, I do get angry but over the years I have learned to control my anger everywhere I go. Alicia offers great tips on how not to 'lose it' with anyone as well as how to be a better person; I still have a long way to go on not letting anything or anyone get to me and it took me three days to read the book. Thank you, Sistah Alicia Magoro, for writing a great book specifically made for Black women worldwide! May God bless you.
