Got this for making some picture frames out of walnut. Ripping them down on a table saw was a bit precarious bit this kept things secure. Easy setup although I thought the brackets to fix down into the table saw rails were a bit on the flimsy side.

Seems well made and good value

This is an excellent featherboard, works as it should. Found out that my table saw isn’t standard for the hardware included to attach it, but this was an easy fix with a couple of washers. Definitely recommend if you don’t have time to make your own.

Die Milescraft Federklemme bietet für vergleichsweise wenig Geld erhöhten Schutz bei der Arbeit an Tischkreissägen oder Frästischen. Der Federkamm ist qualitativ hochwertig und zeitgleich gut verarbeitet (keine scharfen Kanten, gute Materialien, etc. - lediglich die Schienen wirken in der Haptik nicht ganz so hochwertig). Er bietet auf Grund zwei beiliegender Schienen die Möglichkeit, ihn an verschiedenen T-Nuten (16 sowie 19mm - sind Standardmaße) zu verwenden. Die Passgenauigkeit dabei ist gut. Allerdings würde ich mir hier wünschen, dass die beiliegenden Schienen in Form einer T-Nut gefertigt wären - dies würde die Stabilität (Verrutschen der Schiene in der Nut resp. das Anheben des Kamms unterbinden). Zur Wahrheit gehört auch, dass die Flügelmutter ziemlich stark angezogen werden muss, damit die Federklemme in der Nut nicht vor oder zurück rutschen kann. Zumindest ist dies bei der DWE7492 so. Der Anpressdruck ist wichtig und das Hauptargument für diesen Helfer. Jener verhindert (oder verringert zumindest das Risiko) bei korrekter Handhabung eines etwaigen Kickbacks. Der erste Strang des Federkamms ist hierzu ein wenig kürzer als die restlichen und - so verstehe ich es - soll anzeigen, wo das Werkstück angepresst/angelegt werden sollte (siehe Artikelbilder). Man muss schon etwas Kraft aufwenden, wenn der Mileskraft 1406 korrekt eingestellt ist (und selbstverständlich der Parallelanschlag sich nicht mehr bewegen kann), um das Werkstück zurückzuziehen. WICHTIG: Der letzte Strang muss etwas vor dem Sägeblatt sein, sonst drückt man das Werkstück an das Sägeblatt). Die Milescarft Federklemme macht einen super Job; Zur Langlebigkeit kann ich keinerlei Aussage treffen, gehe aber auf Grund der verwendeten Materialien davon aus, dass dieses Hilfsmittel viele Jahre und Projekte überdauern wird. Dementsprechend gibt's von mir eine klare Kaufempfehlung.

If you are in need of a feather board for woodworking, this is a great choice. I should have started using one long before I bought this one. One nice feature is the design where you can adjust the angles. Nice amount of play in the fingers. I noticed some reviews complaining about it not tightening snug in the tracks, but I didn't have any problems with using it. Comes with additional T Slot bolts and 3/4 & 5/8 inch miter bars. I fully agree with the notion of "the better the tool, the better the results". Usually the better the tool , the more expensive it is. There is a middle ground where you can find reasonable tools that perform as well as the more expensive ones...and that's all you need. That's when we can apply the term "value", and this feather board being possibly the least expensive, gives you good value. I have bought other Milescraft accessories in the past. I found them to be well made, excellent performance, and reasonably priced. Brand recognition as well as price helped with my decision, along with the well thought out design.
