Zam Buk Ointment 20g

My mother used to swear by Zam Buk and used it 75 years ago on us kids for all stings, cuts, grazes, etc. I have purchased it since but tend to go for more modern antiseptic creams. I had some damage on my thigh that was not healing and looking red and angry. So I decided to go for Zam Buk.Before opening the tin I queried with my wife whether it was the same product, even mentioning that it was probably now pink in colour.Little has changed, the tin is still difficult and fiddly to open. The colour and eucalyptus smell is the same. It does seem softer than I recall as it used to be stiffer and, was probably harder to apply to a dressing pad. So better.And, it works, immediately soothed the irritation and helped repaired the damage. This is a herbal substance and apparently safe to use.

My Mum used to use it. So I remembered it. It was made in Keighley In Yorkshire. Now the tin I got hasa Birmingham Post Code on it. But, the shop is still open in Keighley, it is a really quaint shop and Museum. Everyone should visit. It is a great product it solved my Excema and calmed down the burning itch. Plus other problems. I think the same about it as my Mother. I am 71 and still use it.

I can remember Zambuk as a child and that makes it pretty old! It seems to be much more effective than the creams that are available now.

Omg this tiny tin is brilliant for treating allsorts of itches stings cuts ect. I bought it orginaly to treat mossy bites abroad it works brill it stops the itch almost straight away. I never go away with out it anymore.

Great for drawing out the puss from a boil

My Mum was a firm believer in this product when I was a kid. A few years ago I saw this in a "natural products" shop and bought a tin. The design of the tin has reverted back to the original design rather than the later Fisons version. The ointment is deeper green than I recall and I think smells different I wanted to try it in a patch if eczema that various Hydracortisines had failed to fully clear up. After using for 3 weeks my eczema had gone and hasn't returned after 3 years. I also use it for cuts and scrapes and works well on itchy insect bites in summer. Would never go without a tin, a brilliant product.

I have barely been able to use it without assistance from my son to get the tin open!!! I read reviews complaining about the same issue, they weren't exaggerating! I have now transferred to a small jar. Other than that useful, good product
