Works great for analyzing the angles on Woodturning gouges

Looks like it'll do what I need

I found the accuracy of the device satisfactory. I needed the device to get quick checks on angles on various pieces of wood and metal parts. The angle on the device has to be changed continually. The issue is the lock nut does not hold a steady friction and the two arms become too loose and flop around. It's a constant concern while I'm using the device . I have to keep checking the center nut for tightness, this detracts from its ease of use. Still I was able to get what I needed from the device and I guess this is a good example of you get what you pay for. For this reason alone I would not buy this device again and I do not recommend it to anyone looking for such a tool.

What your little money can buy. Stainless Steel and big. Very Nice and Accurate. You can't go wrong with this just make sure they are the right size.

For bowl gouge bevel angle use the upper leg may need to be shortened for older or new imported tools with short flutes.

I am using this to calculate and draw accurate panels for skirts of various parts of circles. E.g. I have a full circle skirt composed of 7 equal panels so I need to know the angle of each panel. Kind of esoteric but that's what I needed! Works as I had planned!

The edges are a little bit sharp but not a big deal.
