good for white light, colors more challenging
I do a lot of video and photos of my 3D printing projects. I wanted to get another option to help light my setup. I saw this lightweight portable LED fill light from Newmowa and thought I would see if it helps me.This comes with 2 clip options. One is designed to clip onto your phone and has a ring that you can center around your lens. My phone has a 3-lens arrangement, so clipping around the lens isn't viable, but it does clip onto the phone elsewhere without issue. The other option clips sideways onto the LED light and has expandable sides to pressure-fit the width of your phone. I assume you can then position your lenses off the edge of the light. This mount has 1/4 inch threads at the top and bottom so it could be mounted on a tripod. Unfortunately for me, the phone clip does not quite extend far enough to fit the case I have on my iPhone 13 Pro.The light has a 2000 mAh battery which can be charged with the included USBc cable. There is a small display on the back of the light that you can view the lighting mode (white/color/flashing), the lighting parameters, and battery status. While the directions were useful for how to mount the light, they were not very clear on how to use the controls, which are not the most intuitive. With some trial and error I was able to figure how to adjust the color temperature and intensity for the white light. Adjusting the color proved to be a bit more challenging and I gave up, since all I really want is natural white light. That part was easy enough to change.I liked that I could get an exact color temperature from 2500K-8500K (adjusting by 100). It's also convenient that after powering off and on, it maintains the settings from your last use. As I will likely use the same lighting each time, that's a helpful time-saver.The front of the light does some diffusing of the LEDs, but there are still obvious bright spots. I don't do videos of myself, but if I did, I'm not sure I would want to be looking at this light for an extended period of time.If you are looking for white fill light, this is a good option for you. If you really want to adjust color fills, this may prove to be more challenging.

Ok, not really rainbow RGB as advertised
Firstly, the images showing that it can display more than 1 color at a time are misleading. It can shift between singular colors and can be set to a specific color with varying brightness and saturation/intensity, but you don't have control over which segments of the panel are a specific color. You have 4 buttons (power, menu, adjust down, adjust up) and it's not clear from the instructions on the full scope of how to adjust the settings. The menu button will let you move between the effects, lumens, and saturation. You use the 2 buttons on the right as the increase/decrease or left/right navigation within this menu.If you press the power button while on any of these 3 settings it will jump to an additional setting at the top for each menu item. There's color temperature (cct), hue saturation intensity (hsi), and FX (effects speed). Combining all of these, you do have a wide range of effects and strobes and with some patience you can set it to any singular color that you need it to be.Besides the lack of rainbow options, the other issue is that it starts at bright and only gets brighter. If you lower it from the lowest brightness setting it just turns off the light completely. I don't understand why 0% is even an option, except if someone wanted to adjust the settings while the light is off but the unit is powered on perhaps? It's an odd design decision. In terms of value, it's a bit on the higher side for what it offers. No independent LED control, no app, no brightness fine tuning at the lower range. The form factor is the main selling proposition though and I think it does that well in this segment if you're fine with any of the limitations.

Very lightweight and easy to attach. Just about bright enough.
This light clips neatly to a phone, and can be faced forward or backward depending on what you're illuminating for photography.I'm not a big selfie guy, but it also works nicely facing backward as a fill light for photographing small object with the phone camera. Its large surface produces less harsh and glaring light than the phone flash at close range.Battery charging works as one would expect, I haven't done run-time or battery capacity tests on it, but it runs plenty long on a charge to get through a day's photography. Some of the color modes are more useful than others, perhaps the TikTok generation will find them more exciting than I, but overall the light works well.

Great Idea in a World of Zoom Meetings
With Zoom meetings replacing so many get togethers, this light idea is really wonderful. In so many situations, the lighting is such that people appear to be sitting in dark rooms or the shadows. With a light like this, the fill effect really improves the scene. When you can see the person's face clearly, you actually hear them better and understand them better. As a participant, it puts you in a better position. This light really fills that need. The brightness level is totally adjustable and the screen on the back lets you know the precise settings. My only complaint is that the controls are not intuitive. You need to learn the button control sequences, so keep the manual (like most, not written that great) on-hand going forward. The light clips easily on the monitor and it is solid and well-built. It is definitely a good value.
