Does using 2 strips double the weight held?

I’ve used 2 before to make sure of a firm hold or larger item- but wouldn’t hang anything twice the weight from 2 strips- better to be safe than sorry - so far have used them to hang a shower caddy- holds shampoo/ conditioner( both 300mls) and 2 lots of shower gel-again both 300mls. These and command strips are thebest ones around. The ones that came with the caddy didn’t last- it fell down after a few days.Several months later the caddy isn’t budging.

Can I use these to fix a number plate?

Hi, I don't think they would be strong enough to hold a number plate.
