can you advise the width on the ,i bought one similar at a store up here but its not that wide

Does the adjustment knob decrease the pressure significantly enough to use this one rather than the previous model without the adjustment knob?

I only have the adjustable one, so I can't compare between the two. I will say that I am over 65 and can only use the R8+ with the adjustment knob set to "minimum" - otherwise, the pressure is too much. I also had to order the "Super Plush" rollers, as I found the ones that came with the roller too hard. I am very happy with the setup I have, though. I use it on my legs and arms, and it the almost as good as getting a massage. There are times when, even with the setting to "minimum", I have to pull the rollers apart from each other a little in order to decrease the pressure (when rolling over my shins, for example).

Does this come with extra rollers?
