Great on Carpet and Great Repair Service!
The media could not be loaded.  We bought this for new carpet and vinyl plank flooring in our home. We have a dog and my husband has allergies. We have carpet in the bedrooms and living room and vinyl planking kitchen/dining/bathroom/ hallway. 924 sq ft home. Vacuum worked great for 6 months then I heard a “click” when using the power head and it stopped working. We thought it was the power head that needed replacement so I emailed Prolux and they responded immediately. They sent an RMA to send the power head back. Once they received it, they sent out a new one. That process took 2 weeks. The new power head still did not work, so my husband used a volt meter to try the power coming out of both ends of the vacuum hose. The plug under the handle, on the hose, did not have any power coming from it; the plug at the end of the hose that goes into the vacuum did. I emailed the same person I was dealing with at Prolux (Anna), and let her know. She had a new hose sent out right away. We received it quickly and, as you can see from the video, it WORKS!!!! Now, a few words about the service we got, and also about the vacuum. We did not purchase service protection for this vacuum because it seemed to have a good warranty. We were a bit dismayed that this happened only after 6 months of normal use, but hopefully it was a one time thing, and with the service we got, it was all resolved within 3 weeks which is pretty amazing. The suction on the power head is very good. As you can see from the video, it got up a bunch of dog hair in just a little bit of vacuuming. The vacuum can tip over easy when it’s being pulled around the house, but NOT a deal breaker. I have a bad back, so 10 lbs is not bad for the weight of it. It does well enough on the vinyl plank flooring too. I’m so very happy with it up to this point, and the service we got from Prolux was five stars! (And we bought it on Amazon from a private seller.)

Why five stars? Because their quick-start guide was HILARIOUS!
Assembly was a snap (literally). Push the corresponding pieces until they snap. There is absolutely NOTHING about this vacuum cleaner that is difficult. We did experience a couple of minutes of confusion when we couldn't get the power brush head to turn on, but that was simply a matter of connecting the wand more securely (operator error). Their quick-start guide is anti-male propaganda. That being said, it's also accurate.I am definitely the type of guy that doesn't pick up the instructions or manual unless I run into something I can't figure out. My wife, on the other hand is a RTFM kind of gal. She got a big kick out of the accompanying guide, and ProLux also includes a coupon for $10 for any accessories or replacement parts. This was cool. The actual use was a pleasure. We had previously been using a Shark. The Shark is most definitely OVERrated. This Prolux cleaned circles around the Shark, and is far lighter and easier to use. Emptying the canister is also easier. It's also less expensive than the model we purchased (by a pretty wide margin). The upholstery attachment is quite possibly the most powerful air-powered attachment I have ever seen/used. It is VERY effective, and quite convenient for stairs. We have contoured mats at the front and rear doors. This little attachment is the ONLY one that has ever been able to dislodge the little pieces of "stuff" that get attached from out of the contours of the mat. Bonus star, for that.We can, without reservation or hesitation, highly recommend this potent little machine.

A lot of flaws!!
I have used this vacuum almost daily for 1 1/2 years. I have several pets and am impressed by the suction and ease of emptying debris but that’s where it ends. The auto cord rewind doesn’t hold so I have to use a binder clip to keep it from winding up on me. The hose is very stiff and difficult to use with the brush accessory when I’m vacuumingsmall rugs/furniture. The brush attachment is designed to be on the sides which make going thru doorways and around corners even harder than it should be because it constantly gets knocked off so I rigged a plastic fork w/duct tape to hold the brush in the back. It tips over a lot. The slightest bump and the filter located in a tire falls out.I take the motorized part off a lot and this takes muscle! You could punch yourself if you’re not careful!I don’t think anyone actually tried this vacuum in a real situation before putting it on the market.Shopping for a new one now!!

Well, not for me but maybe you
Pros: incredible suction, got my rug very clean, removed dust I didn't know was embedded deep in the rug. Sealed vac so no dust flies around room. Absolute best for carpeted areas. Long cord! Super strong power.Cons: well, so many I returned it. If you have pets with lots of fur there is no way (without disassembling the whole head) to get the fur from the carpet head. I have a lot of pet fur with a Golden-Chow mix. It did suck it up but was a pain to remove the fur. Secondly, I only have hard floors in my house. The box comes with a small hard floor tool. About 9-10 inches max. Imagine doing your whole floor with a 9in tool. It was a pain in the butt. The company does sell a larger hard floor tool but they didn't respond to my email. The dust cup is, in my opinion, small. Wish it was bigger. The way its built can lead to a mess when you open. The door swings down into the trash can but is in the way so when you empty it, dust can get all over. Holding it open helps. Last complaint is a personal one: I'm left handed. The way the carpet tool turns is only swivel to the left. Convenient for a righty but as a lefty uncomfortable to my wrist.Overall, my husband loved it but he's not the primary user. It has great suction. I'd highly recommend to someone who has carpet and not much dog fur. Awesome product for its size, weight, and price.
