Simple design works great that's what you want in a tape measure

The description says it will "stand out till 7 feet". Well, no, it doesn't. It collapses and starts twisting after about 4 feet. The numbers are large and clear so it is easy to read, heavy and otherwise feels really solid. It instantly snaps back in. But I was disappointed that it doesn't stand out horizontally.

Broke the first day of serious use. Magnets are nice but a better quality tape would have been nicer. The end of the tape got seriously warped while retracting, caught on the plastic case and ripped a small peel of steel out of the tape. This peel then cut my coworkers thumb. Would recommend the Stanley magnetic 25' instead, it's actually cheaper and better made.

This is a 5-star-worthy tape measure if ever there was one. The weight, grip, make it easy to work with and the housing shape fits perfectly in my hand. It's got a bit of heft to it but just in the right amount. Those magnets are so strong it grips onto door hinges that have been painted over several times. The lock is very strong and the raised thumb catch makes locking it a natural movement. The rubber strap is an unexpected, but great addition because it is nearly impossible to have it twist up on you. The clip felt flimsy at first but after I started working with it I realized that the way it is positioned and the two grooves give it plenty of strength without excessively thick metal that is impossible to latch onto, say, your jeans. A contractor apparently liked it because one of the workmen stole my first one. I'm not letting anyone use this one.

Where have you been all my life? I wish I had bought this tape measure decades ago. I'm not in construction, I just use this for random daily use. I am usually alone when I use a measuring tape so I like the magnetic tip, I also like that common fractions of 1 inch are clearly marked and the numbers are easy to read. After buying the Glory Measuring Tape, I no longer use my other measuring tapes.
