Easy to setup, easy to use, and it works on 5 GHz!
I had an extender before, but my previous one didn't support 5Ghz range. And due to lots of non-tech-savvy neighbors in our subdivision who don't care of reducing their hotspot transmitters power levels or as minimum prefer less occupied channels, I decided to replace it with a new model that would allow me to switch to 5GHz.This device is nice, doing its job perfectly. I installed it upstairs in the most distant bedroom where my Echo Dot and the smartphone were having latency issues due to very weak signal levels. With the extender, apparently, the perception is much better, and the download speed is still acceptable for all daily operations (it still only a fraction of the total provider bandwidth though, but that's what all extenders do). This extender also has one RJ-45 port, so I am going to use it when I'll mount an IP security camera outside of the bedroom window.P.S. Please note, I got a promotional price on this unit to give it a test, and provide an honest feedback. And I'm using the extender for more than a week already and no issues at all.

Like magic. Which this unit is clearly not
I bought this because it got high ratings. It wouldn't connect to my router, and was never visible as a connection, despite repeated attempts to get it to connect. I used WPS as the instructions state, which is literally as simple as pushing two very prominent buttons, one on the router and one on the extender, within less than one minute of each other. That didn't work, so I tried connecting it via the provided Cat 5 cable. The instructions for doing so were incoherent and obviously written by someone who's first language is not English. That attempt failed as well. After I attempted to connect it via that route, I could no longer even go to the specified IP address in the instructions so that I could try it again.I went back to my old extender, which is giving me intermittent connections issues (router is brand new), pressed the two WPS buttons, and was INSTANTLY connected. Like magic. Which this unit is clearly not. This should be like an appliance, like a light switch. I shouldn't need to be a Ferrari mechanic to figure it out.Did I mention there's no easy way to get support? No toll free number to call. I'll never buy from this company again. And now I've got to spend another two hours of my life researching Wifi extenders, ordering one, unpacking it and installing it. Hopefully by just pressing two buttons.

Don't expect much
I had a feeling that being cheap might be risky. I was right. Luckily I personally didn't need this to be a perfect solution.Let me explain. This was the cheapest extender on Amazon. I only needed to extend my signal about 20 feet. This extender does that. Where it falls short is wireless performance and setup. The instructions are not great. I'm tech savvy enough that I could figure out how to navigate into the device setup wirelessly. Once in setup, it is easy. I think novice users should set it up with a direct wired connection.Aside from that, the 5ghz functionality is not usable. It broadcasts but the signal is too poor to use. The 2.4ghz works great. Unfortunately the setup doesn't allow you to shut off the 5gHz ssid. For the cheapest extender, it works, but if I needed more range and throughput, I probably would be disappointedand return it.

Not bad for the Money
I did send this back and Amazon was excellent in the return process. I paid 12.99 and it is now listed for 19.99. For a simple solution I think it is worth the money. I wanted to use some of the more advanced features like encryption, no SSID broadcast and some others and it didn't seem to work the way I had hoped, There are no instructions with it and it reboots every time a change is made and it comes with very noticeable activity lights. The setup was relatively easy if you have some knowledge of routers and wireless configurations. Plug in, wait a few minutes and use your wifi connections option on your device and there will be a new a few new wifi networks that are available. You can tell which ones they are by the name associated with the company and speed. There is no initial password. Connect and then as mentioned in the amazon listing login using admin and admin after entering the devices IP address also on the amazon listing. Then it can be configured. There is an obscure option toward the top of the devices configuration home page that will allow for scanning for available networks. Select the network you want to provide a boost to and attach to it. This new device becomes your router if you will and then repeats the signal to original now connected router.
