Very easy setup and the camera looks like it’s well made
Just received this camera. Very easy setup and the camera looks like it’s well made. Plenty of extra mounts and cords to attach the unit to any device or location you need. It worked fine on my test run and I would be ready to use it IF the camera specs matched the description. When I ordered this unit it said that it had an IP water Proof rating of 65. When I received it, according to the box it was in, it’s only rated at a water Resistant rating of 56. I could have bought an IP 56 camera with the same exact features from another supplier for $9.00 less, but I paid the extra thinking the IP 65 would be worth the difference for inclement conditions. I only gave it 1 star because of the water proof mistake, but will give an updated review when I use it in the field.I’m returning this unit after my hunt next week. I did order another unit from the same supplier with the same IP 65 rating but it won’t be here in time to set up in the field this weekend prior to the hunt. Hopefully this was a simple mistake as lots of vendors offer an IP56 camera for less money. I’ll rate the camera functions when I get back, but I’m still sending it back and getting what I paid for. If the one I just reordered from the same vendor has the same mistake, I’ll return both units and save the 9 bucks per unit. I’m fairly sure these units will Work as advertised. Lots of positive reviews on this camera regardless of the sellers name associated with them.Review UpdateI received numerous emails from the sellers concerned with my issue with the IP-56 rating. They were very genuine in their concern and were adamant about taking care of my problem. They issued me a discount on the machine I received as there had been a typo in the description of this unit and they matched the IP-56 price. I used the camera last night and checked it this morning. I took 78 pictures and videos. I had it set in the picture/video mode where it takes a still photo with the time/date stamp and immediately follows with the video on the same sensor trigger. I was pleased with the performance of the camera and will update my review again after a few more days of use. I upgraded my review to 5 stars because the customer service of the seller was outstanding, and they are extremely concerned about pleasing their customers. The camera did a good job for the price and after using it, I would buy again.Update 12-29-17I’ve been using two of these cameras since mid October. They have performed better than I originally expected. The IP rating is sufficient as I’ve used these now in torrential rain storms without any problem. I’ve taken thousands of 30 second videos with these and usually get between 40-80 per night per camera on a 3 minute delay. The alkaline batteries last about two to three weeks with these units which isn’t that bad for the number of videos I’m getting at 1080 resolution. Buy Name Brand batteries and you should be happy. I tried to go cheap with the high energy Rayovac batteries. Not a good thing to do!!! Trying the Rayovac Fusions now just because “They Say” they are longer lasting than any other brand in power hungry devices, we’ll see for ourselves. Cold weather does affect battery performance, but with alkalines that’s normal. Overall I’m extremely happy with my cameras. Lots of info on the picture AND video screen when viewing such as temp in both C and F, moon phase, time, date, etc. I’m giving these cameras a 5 Star rating but I’m lowering it temporarily just to make sure Rainbow Day sees this. I just can’t help myself for doing it!! With the quality of customer service they’ve shown, I’m sure I’ll get an email as to why I lowered my rating. Once I get that email, I’ll edit the stars. BUY WITH CONFIDENCE!!!As expected, Rainbow Day customers service sent me an email wanting to take care of my problem because I down graded my rating. They didn’t READ this update, but wanted to take care of any issues I had. GREAT CUSTMER SERVICE from these people. As promised, I’ll go back to the 5 stars this product deserves.FYI. You can NOT buy a name brand camera with this many features for anywhere near 100.00!!!

Exceeded my expectations
This camera completely exceeded my expectations. The instruction booklet that comes with it is comprehensive and well written (no broken English). The programming menu on the camera itself is easy to use and has an impressive amount of options for the user to customize. You can set the camera to record photo and/or video, customize the motion sensor sensitivity and range, set a delay timer between recording events, etc.I like that you have the option to set the photo and video resolution to conserve space on the SD card. It comes in handy if you don’t plan to check your camera often. My only complaint about the camera is that I wish it accepted more than a 32GB SD card, but that seems to be the limitation on most China-made recording devices. My dash cam has the same limitation. It rained hard for several days while I had the camera set up and I found no signs of water inside the housing when I came back to check on it, so I’m pretty happy about that. It seems like it is sufficiently weatherproof and should last a long time outdoors.I moved my camera around every few days for the first few weeks that I had it to see which spot would work best for long-term mounting. I managed to get pictures of a few deer so far, and a few nighttime videos which I will upload later to show the video quality at night.

Unbranded camera has only an 8 megapixel image sensor, NOT 16.
UPDATE, 21 December: I see they fixed the Product Specifications, so I'm upgrading from two to a more neutral three stars. My original review is below...The Product Specifications claim "Image Sensor: 1/2.4-Inch 16 Megapixel CMOS Sensor". However, the image sensor is only 8MP according to what's printed on page 21 of the user manual. Don't pay attention to the 16MP sticker someone put on the box; it's also wrong.I realize that nearly all of these trailcam vendors advertise the interpolated image rather than the true resolution. You often need to dig down into the product specs to get the real deal. So when I read "16 Megapixel CMOS Sensor", I expected to receive something with a 16 megapixel sensor. This may otherwise be a good trail camera, yet I will never know. The only thing I removed from the box was the manual. I didn't want to start using it only to find out something else was lacking. So I put the manual back in the box and started the return process through Amazon.I'm going to save a few bucks and get the APEMAN, instead...https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071RCVG95/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1FYYQ65E5PX24&psc=1At 5 megapixels, it has a lower native resolution than the "RAINBOWDAY". However, the sensor is the same size, so fewer pixels should translate to better low-light performance. It also doesn't hurt that APEMAN is more upfront about native resolution. The IP rating and IR LEDs are better on the APEMAN, as well.

Fun
This camera is lots of fun if you are a hunter or have animals causing havoc that you want to catch in the act. It is very small so it can be placed almost anywhere. It can run off of 4 or 8AA batteries. The battery life seems to be very good, I only run it on 4 AA batteries and it last several months on my corn deer feeder. The picture quality in the day time is excellent. . . night pictures are good. You will get some blurry images at times if the animals are moving fast but that is pretty standard with any game camera. I have a couple of these and love them. I only run name brand batteries (non lithium) in mine and use a class 10 SD card. The only negative I can find is that the temperature sensor is off at times. There have been nights where it has been 50 degrees Fahrenheit and the camera will display in the 30's. It is not all the time, just every now and then. That is a minor complaint, but other than that it is an excellent value. I hope this helps but let me know if you have any questions.
