How much of the fry basket sits outside the oil...if the basket is full of say chicken wings?

If the oil is placed to the right level, the basket is totally submerged. However, I would not fill it up too full. I placed +/- 4 wings at one time, so that the temperature remains high and the wings get a good 'fry.'

How on earth do you connect the electric plug to the unit? - it doesn't seem to snap in and is very loose.
