Grangers Performance Repel Plus | 500ml | Powerful spray-on waterproofer for outdoor clothing

You'll see in my photographs that first I show what happens before treatment. The coat absorbs the water and it explains why I get wet/damp in the rain. I then followed the instructions on the bottle and used the Grangers Performance Wash before application. 1st) I rinsed my washing machine out on a quick 5 mins rinse setting to remove any residue soap 2nd) I zipped up my coat, emptied my pockets and then set my coat on a quick 44 mins wash (30 degrees, 800 spin) 3rd) I turned on the machine and didn't add the 2 capfuls of liquid into the drawer until the draining mode on the washing machine was completed so as not to lose any product before the wash had even started! 4th) I removed the coat, at the end of the cycle, which was now damp and laid it out to spray 5) I found the damp material absorbed the spray well and I wiped off excess with kitchen roll - I gave the coat a good all round spray 6) when I was happy I put the coat into the dryer on a low heat setting 7) the result is as you can see in the other two photos and video. Fantastic. My son was so amazed with the results, he ran upstairs to grab his ski jacket (checking it can go in the dryer) so that we can do the same for him. Very easy to use and extremely happy with the outcome. So pleased to have gone for this product (vs its competitor). Great value for money and has rescued my raincoat for another season.

Used Grangers Performance Repel Plus and turned waterproofing into a calm, organised ritual rather than a frantic kitchen based disaster. Coat goes on a hanger, taken outside like a well behaved garment, spray applied evenly and then left in the garage for 24 hours to let the magic happen. No mess, no fumes indoors and no panic wiping overspray off random objects. After a day of curing, the jacket beads water like it is personally offended by rain. Still breathable, still flexible and now fully prepared for British weather doing what it does best. Overall. Easy to use, genuinely effective and works best when you give it time to do its thing. Spray, hang, walk away and return to a jacket that laughs in the face of drizzle.

Followed the instructed supplied, does add some additional protection but under heavier rain does not last, now applied multiple times and was expecting a little better repellant but maybe its user error or my expectations were too high price is good and it does improve the wearability of the coat

This stuff works, and works well. It hasn't got a horrible smell so you could use this indoors if you wanted to, and its easy to use. You just dampen the thing you want to waterproof, spray it with the spray and then apply a little heat. Not having a hair dryer I used a heat gun on its lowest setting but the instructions do say you can use a tumbledrier. The spray container had enough to waterproof a coat, a bodywarmer and a large rucksack with a little spare as well. The waterproofing spray really does work. I took a coat and rucksack and waterproofed both, both have since been in multiple heavy downpours for at least half hour each time, and remained dry inside. It's not the cheapest waterproofing spray around but if you want to pay for good quality this is worth a look and is very effective.

I applied several pumps of this stuff to the shoulder of my coat(Superdry)where the stitched logo was letting rain through & giving me a wet shoulder, it smells a bit vinegary but nothing bad or lingering, it’s like really watered down milk on application but I wiped of excess drips with kitchen roll, it dries leaving no stains, no discolouring, no smell, I’ve been out in the rain & my shoulder is dry, I also applied this to some trainers too, so for me this product has lived up to what it says, no more wet shoulder, I’m happy with it, only a few misty squirts of the gun & problem sorted.

Just ok. Needs a lot (a full bottle) on one coat to make it effective

I wanted to waterproof a pair of second hand padded Trakker over trousers - ready for fishing in Norway! So I took a punt on this stuff after looking at a few other products and reviews - some cheaper, some more expensive. Although the trousers were clean I did not pre wash in the suggested pre whatever it is... I sprayed the trousers dry and left to dry hanging in a stable over night. Gave the trousers a quick second coat the next day. The material was definitely not waterproof when I got the trousers in the post as I checked, but, after this spray process the water simply ran off when under the tap! So, a good result so far. I will return and update my findings on how long it lasts - after my trip not far from the Arctic circle 🙂💪👍

It seems to work as well, or better than the Scotch repellant.

What you only read on the bottle after having bought the product: "Caution: Avoid contact with skin and eyes." What object am I going to use this product on, that I would never touch with my skin?
