Superb bit of kit!
Superb. I have had these for a number of months now, using them on a daily basis. The main use is for our top loading wood stove where I can lift the top off and hold it whilst putting more wood on. My laser thermometer has the lid at 200c (390f) and above but I can hold it comfortably for 10 seconds or more. I also use them extensively for our charcoal barbeques and feel confident moving grills about and as I can hold my hands much closer to the hot coals and for longer I am able to use smaller tongs and turn the meat more frequently for more consistent cooking. When it comes to our incinerator they really come into their own. This reaches temperatures over 400c (750f). When poking the fire to ensure complete incineration my face gets uncomfortable long before my hands. For all these uses the longer cuff really makes a difference, no more oven burns and it really makes a difference on how long you can be close to a fire. Many people have complained about the sizing. I have a 28 cm (11inch) span but found the large size comfortable. However they are flexible enough that when toasting marshmallows my 8 year old and friend were able to use the gloves and found they were able to hold the skewers and spin them easily. Yes they were too big but they found they still could pick up and hold small items easily. You can see in the picture one with a glove and one without. The one without quickly took the other glove!!! As the gloves are protected on both sides you can wear them on either hand so it didn't matter that they were both right handed. Definitely small hands. (Picture courtesy of http://www.elizabethskitchendiary.co.uk/) Previously I had different gloves for each of these uses, in particular a heavy duty mitt for the incinerator. These gloves do everything the set of others did but better. You DO need to launder these gloves particularly after barbecuing and DO NOT use them when damp in any way. The moisture (whether water or oil does radically affect the performance; but that is the case for any heat glove. Again as the kids found out if you do get your dominant hand oily or damp from steam when cooking you can switch gloves for an extension of use. Can't recommend them highly enough.

For very small hands indeed!
They seem to be very good gloves, with good wrist protection. So why the poor 1 star? It said on the sales blurb "one size fits all". Yet when they arrive it says Size Small to medium. I cannot even get my hands in them, dad who has much smaller hands than I do was severely restricted so it must mean small for a woman. So to advertise these as one size fits all makes no sense at all. If your looking for a very small oven glove then these should be fine but if not then do what I am having to do and look elsewhere. Just wish these companies would make things like this clear on such items. Its very hard to know which alternative I should go for off the vague or missing size info.

perfect - even for professional use!
Great product! I tested it thoroughly - I earn a living by char-grilling, so be sure my tests were very demanding for the product. 1. Easy test: I baked bread and had the oven at around 280 C. Used the gloves to take out the hot shelf and put it back in the oven. I made that extra slow and was happy that my fingers still felt very good. 2. Medium test: BBQ - charcoal is white and hot in the chimney starter (by the way, you should always use such a thing to get a fast an brilliant glowing charcoal). Put on the gloves and pour new charcoal on the still very hot char-grill. In one hand the chimney starter in the other the grill. Still perfect comfortable in the gloves - they are by the way long enough on your arm if you are over the fire with them. So far for what they guarantee. Now let's go for the real challenges. 3. Hard test: My char-coal is not lying right - so I put on the gloves and move the white glowing charcoal around with my hands - getting brave, I even carry some pieces around for a few seconds. Inside the gloves it is getting warm now - but only a little bit. Still very comfortable. But I nearly burned my fingers when I moved out of the gloves - tearing them with my other bare hand. So be careful: the gloves get very well hot on the outside as you would expect. 4. Very hard test: Normally I don't use char-coal briquettes, but I had to test a new brand. And these briquettes really get f...... hot! So I did the same as before, moving even the red and white briquettes around in my hands. That is nearly the limit of the gloves - it's getting quite warm inside the gloves - not that you would hurt yourself, but it is becoming uncomfortable. 5. Fire test: Finally I wanted to test what happens if you use the gloves with open fire. So I filled up the char-grill with a lot of liquid starter and burned it. Fiddling around in the fire is absolutely no problems for the gloves. And neither for the hands inside. It even rarely gets warm inside. But keep in mind that liquids can get easily into the gloves - if that is liquid fire starter or boiling water, you probably will have a huge problem. That's so far the only disadvantage I can see for these gloves. After all, how do they look on the outside? A little dirty of course and a few spots where tissue got a little bit brown. But after washing they look nearly as new - except of e very few very small brown spots. Compared with my old very thick leather gloves - which last as good in the heat as these gloves - these ones are really flexible and you have all five fingers to grab and handle things. I'm really happy with them and will use them in the future for my professional char-grilling. Good by old leather gloves. I loved you - but it lasted only until I found these little cuties...

Very good with one design flaw
Very good at protecting your hands from heat, good quality and comfortable. However, they do have one irritating design flaw in that the inner layer pulls at with your hand when you take the gloves off. Once the inner finger sections are pulled out from outer layer it can be very tricky to reinsert them. It's a shame; i can no longer use one of the gloves because i can't get the inner layer back in place.

... almost a week now and think they are very good, especially in protecting my arms
I've been using the oven gloves for almost a week now and think they are very good, especially in protecting my arms, which I seem to be able to burn quite easily. I only have one slight criticism, which is that although I ordered small/medium the gloves are a bit big for me but having said that, they are big enough for my husband to use, so perhaps I should let him do all the cooking!

Delivery was quick and the item arrived in good condition. I just tried it out today. The fit is perfect for a small adult woman - My palms are about 3" wide, and the length of my hand (inclusive of my fingers) is about 6" from the base of my palm to the tip of my fingers. The glove is comfortable, and definitely provides a lot of dexterity compared to the traditional oven mitt. I managed to handle hot trays (baking) with no issues at all. Would definitely recommend!

Withstands the heat well for a good amount of time as you should not be handling something to its extreme for too long anyways.
