They do work and are certainly usable. Just keep in mind that they are an inexpensive set and the construction reflects that a little.

Good for boat building, but not small tool shop use.
Finish on these is nice including quality brass fittings, but I found them immediately way too big for small shop use. In all seriousness, if I built boats - which is the DNA behind these - these would be my go to. I return my set with no problems.

Fast and easy
Perfect design, looks great too. Easy to use, fast adjustment, nothing but love for these calipers.

I recommend these dividers
These things are great. They are a bit pricey, but they seem to be well made, and look sharp with the brass trim. The nuts are the quick release kind, which surprised me, and make it very easy and quick to use. The 8" size is really nice too.

Breaks easy
These are not for the rig hands they break if dropped

Not real nice but they’ll work
I definitely don’t get the impression these are quality measurement tools. However, they would definitely work better than your eye with a ruler.
