Great little skimmer, fits perfectly in the back of my AIO chamber and started skimming excess nutrients within 24 hours. A little tricky to adjust and get set where you want it but once you do, works great. Love the feed mode. The only thing I would change is where the collection cup could come off without detaching the airline, however there is a waste tube at the bottom of cup to make for easy emptying into a container. Also within 48 hours or so the micro bubbles were almost non existent. Video is within 24 hours of set up so still breaking in. Great skimmer and great customer service!

Skimmer came well packaged in closed cell foam. Individually wrapped pieces. As with all equipment a good rinse and wipe down should be conducted before use. There was some sticky residue from the plastic wrap present on the plastic. With normal skimmer installations I usually 'break it in' with some dirty tank water and vinegar. It helps build up a bacteria film in the skimmer which helps with bubble production. Do this for at least 12-24 hours prior to skimmer installation. To fit in the filter compartment of the Innovative Marine AIO 50, I had to remove the 2 levelling screws on the back of the unit which wouldn't be used anyways since it's a snug fit and the hang on bracket isn't used. For the first day or two, set the skimmer on low, and let it break in further before really trying to dial in the skimmer. Within a day, it was producing a decent wet skimmate. The air intake adjustment didn't seem to do much, but for a simple drop in solution, the pump intensity is all the dialing one should need with such a skimmer. Quite impressed with this IOAOI Skimmer!

I waited a week to see how the skimmer performed to write a review. The thing works great and I have no complaints. The collection cup is on the smaller size but with the drain line you can easily leave it open to drain into another disposal container. Out of the box it was easy to assemble, but I have a few years experience in saltwater setups. The unit felt sturdy, the collection cup twist locks on top and has a drain line which is important if your running a large bio load. I'm using it on a 40 breeder with a 20 long sump. The skimmer won't hang on the side and as per the description it's for a rimless tank or sump. But I simply 3D printed a mount for it. I'm impressed with the little skimmer, cost comparison to other name brand skimmers, it does the same job at a fraction of the cost. The DC control means you can use it to help dial in the skimmer which makes tuning so much easier. I had it skimming well in just a few days, minimal break in time. I would recommend anyone needing a skimmer to go with this over the more expensive units. I'll update this review if anything else pops up down the road.

I run this skimmer x 2, on my 125 gallon reef. And i am very happy. It cleared a new set up in 12 hours - crystal clear water by pulling out about 7 gallons of skimate and then has been pulling about half a liter per day combined. The bubbles are relly fine, dont travel out of the skimmer. I am draining mine into a bucket, but it shuts of when the cup is full so it doesn't overflow, if that's how you chose to hook it up. It is very consistent once set up. Easy to clean. I have a 3rd unopened one, that is sitting to the side, if one of the other 2 breaks because I don't want to change to another brand. The only thing that i would say is, that for rimmed tanks you have to be handy to set it up. I had to grind the bracket to make it thinner so it fits over the ledge of the rim, and i had to trim the rim where it flares out to put the bradket over it. Also i had to repurpose one of the provided bolts to keep the skimmer perpendicular to the bottom. But well worth it. Ideally they need to provide a bracket for rimmed tanks or to make it adjustable like the fluval nano skimmers.
