How good iOS gaming could be (but isn't)
If you like the idea of this form factor, then this will be pretty much what you imagine. It really turns your iPad Mini into a portable game console. It felt huge at first, but I got used to it quickly. No setup was required, just plugged it in and it turned on. The controller looks well built, the only thing I noticed is the spring that holds the iPad in place is a bit more loose than when it was new, will update this review if it becomes a problem. I mostly use this to play Grid on an iPad Mini 5, and it's just great. The Z pushers are a highlight, they let you adjust the throttle and breaks precisely, it's great fun. The analog sticks are also precise, I find them at least on par with Sony or Microsoft hardware. The D-pad is good, but I don't use it that often (more on that bellow). There are some things that are not great though. For instance, you have to press the buttons harder in some games, but this is due to, for what I've read, those games not handling pressure sensitive buttons correctly, which this device has. But the big shortcoming has nothing to do with the device itself. It's the scarcity of game titles worth your time on the App Store. I mean, there is nothing remotely near BotW, for instance. No Rayman Legends, Diablo 3, etc. The list goes on and on. It's a shame, honestly, because Grid with this controller on recent Apple hardware really delivers better graphics and controls than the Switch, IMHO. Unfortunately, for me, is about the only game worth a slice of my off time.

Works straight out of the box
From what I could see, this is the only controller that fits into an iPad mini so decided to give it a go. Overall it works very well, with my iPad detecting it as soon as it connected. I saw other reviews noting that games on iPad mini 5 donโt work but I donโt know what theyโre doing wrong as any game Iโve tried works as expected. Google Stadia and Xbox Game Pass also work well with it. Only issues to note are that the thumb sticks arenโt clickable so some functionality is lost in games that require this.

Nice, but doesn't work on iOS 9.0
I bought this controller really for one thing, and that thing is to play Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. To this end I managed to track down an iPad Mini 4 running iOS 9.0 and installed the game, plugged in the controller, and nothing happens. For some reason the controller is entirely unresponsive. It should work, and based on the manual firmwares as low as iOS 6 should have no issues. I've confirmed the device isn't defective by using it with my iPhone 6 Plus that's running iOS 9.3.1, so I'm really not sure what's going on there. Be aware if buying for similar reasons. The controller itself actually pretty nice. The grips are comfortable to hold and the buttons are well-positioned. The analogue sticks both feel great, and the triggers, though a little gritty, have decent travel and lack the mush you might see in more modern mobile controllers. My only major criticism is that the L3 and R3 inputs are incredibly shallow with no real click to signify they've been pressed. It's nice enough, and I am really grateful that there's any kind of controller like this for the iPad Mini, but I'll likely be returning this one just for the fact it doesn't work with the firmware I wanted it to.

Doesn't work with any games for Apple iPad Mini (5)
Sorry but this game controller get 1 star, but probably should get ZERO, as it doesn't work with any games for the Apple iPad Mini (5) that I have already on it. There no way to configure the buttons to map onto any games and there's no additional software to load up except some thing like iTunes where you can buy more games; not sure why you'd bother if it doesn't work with the games you already have on your iPad Mini. Shame, that GameVice don't inform the buyer(s) of their product that it will NOT work with any games already installed on your iPad. Doh!

Worth it if you have the games
Well first of all it works beautiful and the way it should be. But Iโve a screen protector on my screen and it did peel it off when putting this on so beware but the plug the device goes into is tight so just line it up and gently plug the thing in. That said once itโs set up the skyโs the limit

Broke after 2 weeks
Bought this for my son. It broke after 2 weeks. One of the joysticks jammed meaning the thing is useless. Avoid.

Awesome product for mobile game player
It works perfect with my iPad mini 5 and iPad mini 2. (But old mini models are thicker than mini 4/5, so i think you need to remove protect film if you use that on old one) If your device is JB, You can play so many games with thiss controller more than ofiicial support list. I wanna buy one more for my brother. Thanks for the international shipping.

Decent Device. The High Price Magnifies its Shortcomings
I bought this to play my PC games through the Moonlight app. It works perfectly, except the thumbsticks are not clickable. This isn't a problem if you are playing a game that allows you to reconfigure the controls, but on games like Bioshock, you're out of luck. The other issue is that the device doesn't REALLY fit an iPad Mini 4. It covers the ambient light sensor, partially covers the rear camera, and the sleep/wake button only works sometimes. I think I could overlook both of those issues if this was a $40-$50 device, but for $100, I would expect clickable thumbsticks and better iPad mini 4 compatibility.

It works!
It works with any mobile games installed on my ipad mini 5th Gen. What I dont like is that it reflects its price, its not as great quality like the Dualsense Controllers or Xbox controllers. But for $29, well it works as intended. Buttons are clicky though, cant play when baby's asleep.

Bought it for the drone but also play games
This thing rocks! My only complaint was due to me not reading the instructions - there are two "spacers" you need to slide in to support the iPad Mini 4. Solid gameplay on all my favorites such as Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath and RayMan. I also have the iPhone device and had to send it back because of sound issues - but not this one. Makes flying any Wifi drone a piece of cake. Much much better than trying to move your thumbs on the screen. Highly recommended if you're a gamer or want to fly a Wifi drone. The Appstore app lists all compatible games and the control layout. My only nit with that is I wish teh pictures of the controls would zoom - some games use all the controls and the text can get tiny.
