Detection
Very effective. My cat underwent radioactive iodine treatment, and I needed to protect myself. It's accurate and quick to detect. All my cat had to do was walk by or stand for any period of time. period of time.

Good for the price.
I was fortunate enough to get the original legit version. Features the J321 GM Tube. Detects the radiation in my smoke detector VERY well when firmware upgraded (Americium-241 Alpha, It's not designed to detect Alpha reliably... but upgraded definitely lets you know of it's presence) . Stock product does not have clicks. If you get the original version, it's good for the little money you pay. Upgraded mine with custom firmware and now got clicks and higher detection rate.

Item is ok but room for improvement
Item is ok. Improvements can be made so a sound go off alerting if getting close to dangerous conditions. As this item remains silent.

Gives readings way below actual radiation levels, therefore may be dangerous to trust the readings.
Returned for a refund after comparing it with a friend's proper Geiger -muller tester, this one gave stupidly low results compared to actual radiatin, so is not only rubbish at the job, but could lead one to get a higher radiation dose than expected because of the bad readings which were way lower than actual radiation levels. Avoid, spend the bigger money on a proper grown up version!
