I did not purchase these until my 4th tray/aligner and when I started using them it made me realise that my previous braces were not as fitted as they are now with the help of the chewies. It really helps the tray sit securely on your teeth especially if you have lots of attachments. It does hurt using them at the beginning of every tray change, but it also helps to make sure the fitting is tight which is important to obtain the maximum movement per tray. . It hurts a bit for first few days into new set if retainers before settling down. Personally I found them very useful and reassuring that my retainers were in properly everytime.
