This is the only purple shampoo that I have tried that really keeps the "yellow"out of gray hair. It cleans the hair well and smells nice too. When paired with the same conditioner, my hair is clean and soft. Very pleased to with this product.

My hairdresser told me that my now-white hair had a yellow cast at the sides, and that I needed to use a "purple" shampoo to remove the cast. I use this shampoo once a week now to remove the yellowness that accumulates on the sides of my now-white hair. While a small amount of yellowness remains, the shampoo brightens the whiteness of my hair and provides a shine.

It really does brighten up your hair if you have blonde hair and get rid of yellow undertones, For gray hair it really does get rid of the dark grey tones. My grandma and I love this shampoo.

This shampoo is so purple that it almost looks black so be prepared for a bit of a mess in the shower. I needed to use a pretty large amount to get enough for my shoulder length hair. I think it works alright and I will keep using it but it is not a good substitute for my usual Kenra purple shampoo. It is much cheaper though!
