I like this device. It's size makes it convenient to wear on the lanyard. The optics are decent and the controls are easy to access and use. The battery lasts a decent time. The downsides are the occular is hard plastic with rubber eye shield, so the glow is visible and the illuminator has a short range. It's fun to use for critter spotting.

This night vision monocular is a really impressive device for the price. The image quality is clear, and the infrared works well—you can see surprisingly far in complete darkness. The 4K photo and video capability is a nice bonus, especially if you want to capture what you’re seeing. The included 32GB card makes it ready to use right out of the box. The zoom feature helps bring distant objects into view, and the overall range is solid for outdoor use like camping or exploring at night. It’s easy to operate once you get familiar with the controls, and the rechargeable battery is convenient for extended use. Build quality feels durable, and it’s comfortable to hold for longer periods.

So I’m a photographer, and I wanted to try out the whole night vision camera gimmick. The quality of the photos is really not that bad, and if you have skills with editing software you can actually make some pretty cool stuff. Unfortunately this camera is tricky to use. It is automatically zoomed in really really far. Meaning you will have to stand a great distance away from something in order to get a shot of the whole thing (which can mess with the quality of the image). The night vision is cool, and the different IR settings do actually make a difference which is nice. Generally I wouldn’t recommend a camera like this to someone that doesn’t know what they’re doing. There’s a lot of mental hoops you have to jump through just to get it to turn out how you want. I added some pictures I took on it for reference, keep in mind most of them are post edit, the original photos come out in b&w. All in all this camera has been both fun and frustrating.
