They are better than the wired shoe laces because they don't break and they are very easy to loosen and tighten when needed. I use them now on all my shoes. I never have to worry about my laces coming untied. The only issue is that one needs to be careful that you don't loosen so much that the lock comes off. If the lock comes off, you just need to reinstall the lock. That has only happened once. The different colors are useful for different colored shoes. The blue ones match my pickleball shoes and the black ones match my hokas. These are a great value and a time saver. I highly recommend them.

I tried with more than one of the colors on a regular pair of tennis shoes. Only one of the strings went through on a pair of the connector (circle part). And that was only on the silver pair. Otherwise none of the other ones would. So none of them could be used. Highly disappointed because of reviews I had Read seemed positive. Also the instructions are just on a little piece of paper. Would be difficult for someone with eye problems to read the words/see the pictures.
