I have been looking for a top-quality magnifying glass for at least one year. I finally found a great product in this purchase.I wanted to be able to read fine print without straining or swapping out prescription eyeglasses. Although I wanted more of a hands-free "desktop" lens, I couldn't find anything that I thought would work for me. And I didn't want to wear anything on my head.I am pleased with the following features: large viewing lens, crisp image, and comfortable handle. My biggest surprise was that the three LED lights are very bright and helpful. The lens itself has a smaller lens that also works quite well.This magnifier is a little heavy, but that's the trade-off for having a large, high-quality lens and a handle that holds 3 AAA batteries for the LED lights.My only concern is that when I tap the lens gently on a soft surface (my couch) I hear a slight rattle. To me that only means that I should take care not to be too rough with the lens (and I'm thinking that's a good idea, regardless).

Excellent magnifier. Best features are the large diameter and the 2-stage light on the underside.Suggestion to users - When you are finished using it, set it down upside down. That is, with the lights facing UP. One time I thought that I had turned the light off and I set it down without realizing that the smaller light was still on. In a few days the 3 batteries were dead. If I had set it down with the lights facing up, I would have seen that I didn't turn it completely off.

This is by far the best magnifying glass I have ever owned.I have worn eyeglasses most of my life and I cannot usually see through magnifying lenses.They typically are too small and skew my vision so that it is hard to see the print without the perimeter blurring. With this extra large lens, I see more of the reading area without the perimeter blurring. And I can actually see what is being magnified!As far as the scratch resistant lens, I actually dropped my car keys on it a couple of times and ...no scratches... I think it is pretty amazing as well!This magnifying glass has 10X, 20X, and 45X also it has 3 LED built lights which is extremely useful when inspecting tiny print. The 5.5-inch extra-large lens super nice. The addition of UV sets it apart from other magnifying glasses.All around this is a great magnifying glass. Strong points - glass lens (resists scratching), large diameter, 10x main glass excellent for reading when combined with the large diameter, comfortable handle. Looks good. m Takes 3 ea. AAA batteries - just for info. Areas for improvement - lighting is very good but would be better with a ring of LED's.

Nicely made and designed, however the lens is PMMA (acrylic polymer), NOT glass. LEDs are fairly bright, functions as advertised.

This magnifying glass does exactly what it promises. It’s lightweight, has bright lighting, and features an easy-to-hold handle, making it incredibly convenient to use. I have a several large magnifying glasses inherited from my parents. This is a nice, large magnifer. The LED lights are helpful. It is a definite improvement over the old ones.I could find no information on the weight of the unit, but I measured it when I got mine. With 3 AAA batteries, this unit weighs 8.25 ounces or about 234 grams (.516 pounds). That is bit heavier than the older units I have, but this unit has a larger lens, higher magnifications, and the lights are a nice addition.The weight is the only reason I don't give it a 5 star rating, but I don't see any other product that offers lighter weight. So all-in-all, I am satisfied with product.Even if it costs more, does anyone know of a similar magnifier made with super light glass or plastic (like used in premium eyeglasses)?

I’m 52 and blind as a freaking bat so rather than struggle to read I just accepted reality and got this. It works great, light would be better with a dimmer but it f I ever find myself trapped in a sewer system or abandoned warehouse during an apocalyptic event then I’ll bring this. Then I can see and read. Would be cool if it came with a head strap so I could look like a Minion and my arm wouldn’t get tired but that’s just me.

Very good quality, clear lense with little distortion. I would call this one a "real" magnifying glass versus so many cheap plastic alternatives out there.
