I bought one of these to cut down a steerer tube on a new frameset, something I've done several times over the years but not often enough to think that spending this amount of money on a tool I'd only use very occasionally is worthwhile. I was wrong. Previous efforts to get a straight cut using a vice and hacksaw have always been a little hit and miss, no matter how careful I was. This tool makes it so easy to get a perfectly straight cut, which is especially important for integrated seat posts and some headsets. I wish I'd bought one years ago.This is a workshop-quality tool, as opposed to the cheaper versions you'll see. It's quite weighty and feels very solid and heavy duty. It's also bigger than I expected, possibly because it's designed to allow you to cut any size and shape of seat post, including aero posts.Buy one, you won't regret it. It's not cheap but it's a quality tool and unlike the cheaper versions this one will handle any size and shape of fork steerer or seat post you'll ever (probably) need to cut. It also feels like it will last a lifetime so you'll only have to buy it once.

Used for cutting down handlebars on mountain bike but also you can use for seat posts and fort fork stem tube makes life easy just make sure you have access to a vice

Work great on my carbon steerer tube and aero seat post. The cut was pretty straight but it does slightly goes out of alignment toward the end of the cut, it was very small. I would recommend it if you are looking for one. Save a lot of time and hassle, especially if you have to cut more than once.

Bin sehr zufrieden, habe damit ohne Probleme meinen Gabelschaft und meine Aero Sattelstütze gekürzt.Hochwertige Verarbeitung, mit Kunststoff Klemmbacken, die den Gabelschaft und Sattelstütze fixieren.An meiner hochglänzenden Aero Sattelstütze sind keinerlei Spuren von den Klemmbacken sichtbar.Zu Empfehlen!
