This book read very much like a stream of consciousness journal. One thought leading to another and then sometimes circling back and others getting lost.There seemed to be many layers to this story and some really worked well together but others didn’t seem to connect.

I loved this book. I giggled to myself and many times, I just straight up laughed out loud. I love the accuracy of this book-how messy and fun life can be. Carolyn’s sense of humor and appreciation for what’s really important in life come across throughout the pages. I’m getting copies for my friends for Christmas. I can’t wait to read her next book!

This book was a well written exploration of several pivotal days in the life of one wife, mother, daughter and friend. The story was full of relatable anecdotes and insights. I enjoyed it!

The title had so much promise that the book didn’t live up to. It is rare for me to not finish a book as I generally find that a couple more pages or chapters will find the grab. But after several tries to read a few more pages and chapters, I finally gave up. The very occasional reference to a Prince song never drove anything about the story and I never found the characters engaging. I only wanted to know if they made it out of the storm but little else captured me.
