Great, flat bottom, sharp knife
VERY sharp. I’ve kept the sheath that came with this Japanese knife. You will need it for storage if you keep it in a drawer. Great design. Comfortable handle, just the right length to cut, slice, dice vegetables. I’ve used it a lot and it stays sharp. I purposely bought this knife not only because the nice shorter length than other knives, but I like working with a blade that is designed with a flat, even cutting surface. It eliminates some up and down movement on my dominant arm, which is easily inflamed due to lymph edema. On time shipping and packaged well with no damage!

Great knife... at this price you won't go wrong.
I've been looking for this style of petty knife for some time but didn't want to spend big dollars for something I won't use a lot. This is the perfect slicer for me, excellent materials, details and workmanship. One of the sharpest 'out of the box' I've ever had. I'm very happy with this and wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

A beautiful but intimidating knife
Before the pandemic, my wife bought half a cow from one of those share programs. It was delivered during the pandemic and was a lot more meat than you would think. Some of that meat needs a real butcher's knife if you want to be able to get through bone as well, so I did some research and decided to try this one due to it being a full tang and being a reasonable price. It is very sharp and proficient at chopping. I wasn't sure what to expect really with a knife this large, but from the balance to ease of handling, color me impressed. The presentation is not lacking either. There is a hook to hang your knife up, because honestly, what knife block is going to hold this beast? The knife has a hammered finish to it and it has a nice leather sheath for function and presentation. Overall, this is a beautiful but intimidating knife, but my wife loves it, and that's all that matters.

Starter knife
It's a good start knife for its price but be careful for its length even beginners will be need to adjust to it.

Outstanding product at such a small price
I purchased the 7" Nakiri in AUS10. For a $40 purchase, this is an outstanding product. Balances well, came sharp right out of the box. Appreciate the wooden Saya. Will recommend it to others. If you are not accustomed to caring for a carbon knife, don't order this item. This is not stainless-steel. It requires more fines and attention. But the experience is worth it in MHO.

Surprisingly great knife!
We got this little 5.5 inch "paring" knife to cut up dog treats, as it has a handy sheath and can be safely kept on the counter, freeing up my fine cooking knives for the people food. As an inexpensive knife (on sale from $30 to $15 for Christmas) my expectations were low. The knife turned out to be very well balanced and sharp. Yes, it needs to be cared for properly as any carbon steel knife, but it holds its edge well and can be easily sharpened when needed. The handle is surprisingly comfortable, and the wooden sheath works really well.

Beautiful knife, sharp, amazing value
Wow. Awesome knives. I ordered the gyoto and utility knife. They are not full tang - just half tang (verified with magnet test). Cuts paper and tomatoes like butter. Great packaging. And the handles and sublime and smooth. Not handmade or Japanese but at this price you can't complain at all. I am now a Grand Sharp fan - make more please 🥺

Razor sharp and sturdy
I wanted another knife with higher carbon content and some more weight to it. This is perfect. Could slice paper like butter fresh out the box. The higher carbon content means it holds and edge better because it isn't as soft. Be careful on leaving it wet as the carbon means it rusts easier. Clean it immediately after use, and maybe wipe it down with some oil every one in a while (and food grade oil is fine)

So glad I bought this, it does the job and is clearly very well made. I use a steel before using each time to keep the santoku in tiptop shape and sharp as a top chef taught me. Love that it comes with its' own sheath and the damask is just gorgeous. After all these years of fine cooking it's a great tool to make my culinary work shine. Great gift for a chef in your life if you have one!
