Works Perfectly
I buy cob corn from me neighbor but need a way to shell faster than by hand. Enter this little beauty. It works just as described. It only takes a few seconds to shell one cob. Most of the time the cob comes shooting out of the back when complete but sometimes you get a crooked cob. It may hang up in the mechanism but it is no work at all to just pull it out. To shell a 50lbs bag takes maybe 20 minutes but that is more me than the sheller. Shoulder muscles only work so fast. I want to hook it up to an electric motor via drive belt next. I have read reviews that the casting is poor. I did not have that issue. There may have been a few rough spots but if its that important to you, grind them smooth. You only paid $50 or $60 for this. All the parts were in the box and it only took a few minutes to put it together.

I am not mad, just disappointed.
It is ok. Casting is rough. No instructions. Hope it works better than I think it will.

Sheller
Works ok but doesn’t always take all of the corn off the cob and some times the cob gets stuck but in does a half decent job.

Dont
Arrived with missing hardware and a broken leg. Looks like whoever packaged it was angry or in a hurry. Pot metal casting is also low quality garbage.

By golly, it's pretty good
Based on some of the other reviews I was somewhat ready to be disappointed or at least underwhelmed. Now folks, I'll admit this isn't the biggest unit in the world, but it handles my needs for husking my crop of black walnuts. It isn't fast, but it does a great job. No issues here, I'm happy with this unit. Comes nicely padded. Having instructions in English would be a plus, but it's not rocket science to put this rig together - just look at the pix and you'll do fine.

Rough castings
I wanted something cheap to hull black walnuts. I was able to get the job done and then borrowed a cement mixer to tumble and wash off what was left. Castings are rough and some of the fit is wonky, I didn't expect much for the price. Mine had a weird twist so I had to screw it down with some washers and deck screws. Careful with the bolts, they're total chineseium; you might be better off going to the hardware store and getting a size up. Just don't torque anything so hard you break the casting. If you do, you'll have to find an old timer that knows how to braze cast iron. Weirdly, there is an actual sealed bearing on the shaft. I'm going to try growing sweet corn this year, and I'll leave some on the stalk to mature. I'll see how it does stripping corn in the fall.
