A fun gadget
This product is unusual and a little difficult to rate. As AR glasses, they are a major failure and would be 2 stars. I could never get the software to work, as the instructions are barely there, and the process is not at all intuitive. As a large external virtual monitor, they work very well. Surprisingly, the image is fantastic, and it looks very pleasing. It gets very bright, has pretty good contrast, and is sufficiently detailed that pixels are not really visible. If they could get VR working with this thing somehow, it would be an amazing device.I have used these with a number of video sources. You need the air adapter and the apple hdmi adapter for use with an iPhone, which adds bulk, but it is pretty much plug and play once used. It’s an expensive setup with the adapters, but other cheaper solutions I researched wouldn’t work since going from HDMI output to USB C is a rare process for video and requires an external power source included in the air adapter. It also works well with the Steam Deck with no adapters. Some have complained of frame rate drops, but I have experienced no obvious issues. It really shines as an external monitor for the iPad Pro. Since both use native USB C, it is really simple to plug and play. The two most recent versions of the iPad Pro with the M series processors can output as a secondary monitor rather than just as a mirroring monitor. It works well, and the image is nearly flawless. There are some issues with window sizing for video in getting a full screen viewing, but that is app dependent and entirely the fault of Apple’s poor implementation of ipad multitasking and windowing.I also tried it with a Samsung fold 5g 2, but even though it was supposed to work without adapters and with some native software features exclusive to Android, I never got it to work reliably. It might be due to the fragmented nature of android, but it would often output video in various resolutions and window sizes. The ability to use the phone as a mousepad for a desktop like experience was cool when it worked.

Good but bad
If you're going to release glasses like this why not create an adapter that allows you to charge your phone while using this? Or power the adapter so you aren't limited to only 3 hours with HDMI..... Pay $400 for something and people have to spend $100 and waste time trying to find different adapters to actually use the product for more than a hours is pretty sad. Expect your phone to die very fast. The best thing I found is to use a MagSafe charger while using the phone. With PC you are screwed and limited to the short battery life of the adapter. WHY COULDNT THEY JUST ADD A CHARGING PORT FOR CONTINUED USE

Shipping and customs will charge you an extra 200$
I ordered the glasses for a trip that was going to be an 18 hour flight. Figured these glasses with a steam deck would be an awesome source of entertainment.Although i ordered the glasses with amazon. The glasses stayed in customs for an additional two weeksI only found out about it because the nreal reps were doing a Q&A session on discord. So i contacted the reps and they assisted with pushing it along. How ever i had to pay an additional fee and contact customs and give them my some personal information. Seems in order to get these glasses you have to have an EIN or give customs your ssn. once i did that the glasses came but the adapter still have another 2 weeks before it would arrive which was past the time of my trip. No that I'm back from my trip i just received a bill from ups asking for an additional fee.The glasses work but the hassle and the additional cost is not worth it.

Where's my refund?
It's a great product. But for any iPhone older than 15, it's inconvenient. Why not make a lighting cable as well? I tried it on a Samsung as well and it looks great! But I have an iPhone 14 Pro so I returned it. Still waiting for my refund. When is it coming?
