I've spent years looking for a comfortable hat to keep the scorching sun off my head. I've tried expensive cowboy hats of all kinds of materials, and many other styles of hats. Finding this hat has been a revelation. The brim is nice and wide, but not too stiff or too droopy. It hangs perfectly to keep the sun off my face. The center of the hat is made of a mesh material which keeps the sun off my pate while letting the heat escape. The fit is absolutely perfect for my head, and the color goes well with any clothes. My only issue is with the crappy knob on the string. You're supposed to use it to make the string tighter or looser under your chin, but it always slips down. It's not sprung like most such items, it's just a ball of wood with a hole in it. Easily replaced with a better one, though, so it's hard to complain.I've been using this hat for 3 months now, and it's held up very well. I wear it almost every day, and I'm a heavy sweater, especially through the head. I've run it through the washer (HE washer on a gentle cycle) and it came out good as new.My long search for the perfect hat has finally ended.

A $50 wearable product was shipped in a tissue-thin bag, arriving completely crushed. So badly mauled that there was no way to restore the crown of the hat. I returned it (which I very, very rarely do). FYI: XL fit my 7 5/8" head nicely, but buyer beware.

I am undecided about returning this hat. The size is smaller than expected—it’s a bit tight. The brim is also stiffer than expected.I have a Henschel Original Aussie Breezer (5310?) that I like a lot. I chose this slightly different version (Aussie Grande Breezer, 5301), in a different color, to get a slightly larger brim for sun protection.The original (5310) XL fits great but this (5301) XL is tight for my 7 5/8 US sized head.The original is much softer, which I attribute to materials rather than age. This newly purchased version (5301) is quite stiff as if the brim contains cardboard. It’s less comfortable this way—my older hat was instantly comfortable.On the plus side, despite being shipped in a bag, the new hat survived the “crushability” test and looks fine. The green color is a darker green than I would expect for “olive,” which I appreciate and expected based on the picture.

I bought this hat primarily for hiking and backpacking. But wore it on a recent river trip. Held up great wet - held its shape. The mesh definitely kept my head cooler on the hot sunny day. I love the wide brim for sun coverage.

Well constructed. The ventilation makes the hat so much more comfortable for warm weather use.

Although I don't look good with any hat, this is the one makes me look decent.It encourage me more outdoor activities and I enjoy wearing it. Great quality is that it stays original shape even after rough handling.

Excellent quality for the price. Looks great and the fit was perfect. I liked it so much that I ordered two more to be sure I could replace the first one if it wears out.

And yes, it is definitely packable and retains its shape. Well constructed hat. Good purchase!
