Since discovering Essence peel off gel in Wilko I had been doing my nails at home with UV gel and a lamp. A peel off gel, whilst the nail colour does not last quite as long, it is easy to remove so you can easily change colours. However this was discontinued though I did find a stockist when in Majorca! Once that ran out I was back to the age old problem of removal which was wrecking my nails so I went back to expensive salon treatments as the experts with the right tools could remove the old varnish with less damage and they used a powder layer to strengthen my nails. After Lockdown and removal my nails were paper thin so I tried dipping powders. Much easier to remove but quite a faff to apply perfectly. The initial kit was quite expensive and though the system was great there is 6 different bottles to use plus the color dipping powder. I needed an electronic file to smooth the dipping powder as my application wasn't that even initially. I didn't really like any of the resulting colors and they were not very shiny but the system did make my nails feel really strong. That is until removal which took ages even with an electronic USB nail drill. I left my nails bare for 6 weeks using lots of strengtheners and oils but as soon as they grew a decent length they flaked. Then I read about Builder Gel on a local salons blog. I looked and was amazed Amazon sold it so after reading about the process in the blurb below I immediately ordered some and some paper nail forms. Using the nail forms to extend your nails is tricky but there are videos on Youtube. I used alone on nails that had reached a good length and it was so easy. Took me a while to get the hang of extending a nail but really pleased and amazed at the outcome. The trick is too make sure your nail form is lined up correctly under you own nail tip and that it looks flat from the side. Don't extend the gel too much or it will take ages to file into place and you don't want to clip any extra off as you may make it split or crack. A good tip when you have painted the gel on is to turn your nail upside down so the gel levels. This is explained on Youtube. You need to prep your nails properly with prep and wipe and then primer, apply the gel, cure, then colour layers, cure, top gel layer, cure, prep and wipe solution to remove residue. On one nail while the gel was wet I applied gem stones all over and then another layer of gel before the final cure. It is easy to add decorative effects which stick to the gel. I've read that you can use with ordinary nail varnish as log as you use a non acetone remover which would melt the extensions so I will probable try that next so I can change colors more often.

i was a bit hesitant to order builder gel as I wasn’t sure if it’d be as good as when I go to the salon, but i can confirm my nails turned out beautiful! the shade is perfect, application was easier than I thought. It’s a bit runny so you need to work quite quickly with it but overall not a problem 💗

I love this builder gel, but it's not hema free so be careful if you're allergic. But otherwise it's a really nice colour and thickness, and easy to work with, and sets well under uv/led light

This was my first time using builder gel, I've always been an acrylic girl from the age of 12, now I'm nearly 30 I thought I should start steering away from acrylics and to try and strengthen my natural nails. I was a little anxious as I've never used builder gel before, nor have I used gel colour but there's a first for everything! It did take me most of the day to master the technique but once I had done one hand, the 2nd hand didn't take too long.The colour is perfect if you want to paint over it, and also a perfect colour on its own if you prefer the natural look. The coverage is perfect, can't fault it at all. It dries under the lamp in 90s, which I found surprising as its a thick consistence. Once they're dried and you've wiped off the stickiness, I filed the tops ready to paint over with a gel colour. I did my nails at the start of August, and it's now the 17th September, I've had no chipping, no nail breakage at all, which I was really surprised by, I always got acrylics due to my health causing weak nails, even with my feed I still have the worst nails, but I was pleasantly surprised at how strong they are. The tips of my nails would always bend but I can whole heartedly say the tips of my nails don't budge, they're solid as a rock. Incredibly happy with the product, and I've attached images of when I first did my nails, and then 4 weeks of re growth with no chipping. This was my first time so please excuse the unprofessional painting I've done, practice makes perfect I guess. The main thing is, it's absolutely brilliant and I can't recommend it enough!!Just as a side note, I didn't use mylee gel polish, that was from beetles.

I read reviews before buying and people say it’s runny, so as it’s first time using this I put less on so had to do 2 coats. Thought it went well and nice colour, could leave without polish but I put polish on top. Would recommend

Really good product and nice colour, its beautifully thick just enough to self level but not runny to the point where it would flood the cuticles. It would be a 5/5 stars but the brush being faulty makes it extremely difficult to use the product

I’ve never used gel polish before as I’d been using dip powders which take a really long time to do so wanted to have a go with the gels if I’m short on time.Bought the builder gel as I have weak nails. I didn’t watch any videos just followed the instructions. Subsequently the nails are not as good as they could be, but I love the results.You can build up the layers so keep them nice and thin. Also this gel is self levelling, I found this out after I did the nails 🤣I’m very happy with this gel. This is the blush colour with the heart confetti top coat. Well worth buying.

Comme d'habitude, pas déçue par le produit.Bien emballé, livré rapidement.La texture est géniale, format pinceau pratique.La couleur est très jolue, légèrement plus claire que la photo, ideal pour un effet naturel.Surprise agréablement lors de l'application, le produit sent le bubble gum!Il s'applique très facilement, sèche rapidement, inutile de revenir poncer, égalisé, éventuellement une seconde couche pour plus d'intensité.Bref, un très bon produit, rapport qualité prix, rien à redire !
