Q: Cool vs warm mist control: I am not clear on the controls when used together. What do each control?

Cool mist is the normal ultrasonic which basicly vibrates the water molecules until they turn to a mist. This transition from liquid to a visable vapor or gas feels cool to the touch, not cold but slightly cooler. If you turn on the heater to low or high it heats the liquid water making the mist feel warm. I dont use the heater because I dont have it misting on my body and it takes up alot more power. The warm mist is just the temp of the mist no other real effect or complications.

Q: Can this humidifier remember setting after power off?

Not after a power outage but if it shuts off cause of no water or you turn it off and turn it back on it will turn on to your last settings
