The Shack: Healing for Your Journey Through Loss, Trauma, and Pain

This book has done more for me than any counselling. I lost my son many years ago and dealing with that loss is hard. This book challenged me to answer honestly, to meditate on what was written and to seek new avenues, It is so good I have ordered more as gifts, Anyone who is struggling with life or faith this is an excellent resource. Words seem in adequate to its excellence.

A very useful book for reading and self study, following the film. A very useful book to use as part of a themed Bible study, after watching the film too.

Good product

This is an excellent read and not for those whose faith is so shaky that they cannot view the book with an open mind. This is not for the self-righteous or the holier-than-thous. Is God who you think He is? Why do such awful things happen to good people? You might find your answers in this provocative book.

I had read the book years ago and loved it. Despite the objections that many have to some of the ideas presented, for me it was all about relationship with God. For me it made it so much more real and personal and easy to understand. Back then, there was no movie. After I saw the movie I went on line to find it and I found this. I realized how much healing I needed from past hurts and thought it might be useful in the journey. I have just begun to work through it... and find it to be very worthwhile in bringing up important questions. What you do with it is up to you !

My sudy group is workingthrough this book to coinside with thebookand movie

using this for our small group discussions and it has really allowed the group to open up and get much closer. This is a great way to allow group members to talk about God in a theoretical way almost.. discussion relationships and discovering things about themselves as they explore some of the concepts.. not everyone in the group agrees with the book itself, but sometimes the disagreements make for better discussions than just assuming the concepts in the book are correct.. Great study guide!
