How does the jar spatula compare to the old one (with black handle)?

The old Oxo jar spatula with black handle is PERFECT, just the right amount of flexibility and a nice size. In comparison, I thought this new Oxo jar spatula is awful. It is not flexible and is like a stubby stick. It is the only Oxo item I have ever returned. I replaced it with the old Oxo jar spatula with black handle. It is PERFECT.

Does this pass a pinch test (meaning it turns white along the edge when folded or pinched)?

Aloha renewtheruins, ummm, not sure what you are asking here. Edges are flexible, but it doesn't turn "...white along the edge when folded or pinched". Because you asked, I checked my other silicone spatulas, and none of them turn "white". Hope that helps and happy cooking!

Will this jar spatula clean out a soup can good?

Aloha. If you are talking about a 10.5 oz, regular size can of Campbell's Soup, this spatula will be too large for that. The spatula blade size is about 5.25" long x 2-11/16" wide; regular size can of Campbell's Soup is approximately 2-5/8" diameter x 4" tall. I would recommend looking at the smaller sizes of this spatula. Hope that helps.

To what temperature is it heat safe?

The silicone jar spatula is safe to use between 350-500 degrees. I myself wouldn’t leave it sit in high heat but to stir heated items, it would be safe.
