The first one I ever bought lasted probably 15 years. The bra-style clasp in the back eventually rusted into pieces. The second one that I bought looks very similar to this product and cracked at the top, through one of the strap holes after only 2-3 years of use. I can't remember where I had bought either of those chest protectors. I needed a new one, so this looked like a reasonable choice.I'm happy with my purchase at this point. I've worn the product to practice twice. I fence sabre. I've felt no discomfort while taking a lesson or bouting. This one even fits me better than my last one. I ordered a size S. My bra size is 34A or 34B. The straps are standard elastic ones like I seen on most fencing equipment.The only concern that I have for the durability at this point is that the clasp in the back is not a clasp. Rather, it's velcro. I have always had trouble with the velcro on my jacket, knickers, and lame. It wears out. I recently joined a martial arts school, during sparring I got hit in the chest twice and ended up bruised for about two weeks. I ordered this chest protector a medium (I'm a 34C) unfortunately a medium was too big so I had to return it. I reordered a small and got it within 24 hours!! It fit perfect!
