Is this really good for water coloring?

I love to save a buck, but this paper makes me hate watercoloring. I started out with this paper but it made me so frustrated I almost gave up entirely and when I put my mind to something, I'm like a dog with a bone. I use this to strictly for brushstroke drills, and it's so bleep bleep finicky it helped me learn water control. But I think you'll be a LOT happier if you purchase an Arteza watercolor journal, even though the weight is less than 140lb. For anything using wet/wet technique, I go with nothing short of 100% cotton in any brand and cut the paper into quarters to save money.

What is the content of the paper? It isn't stated in the description, but I would like to know if it's 100% cotton or not.

This is not 100% cotton. It's pretty good as far as cellulose paper goes though! Just don't expect it to hold up like Arches or other 100% cotton papers if you're completely soaking it or doing lots of scrubbing.

Would this paper be good to use to print an image on, then colorize the printed image with watercolor pencils and water applied with brushes?

Well, one thing is that you might have to cut it down to make a standard size width. It’s 9” across and your printer is probably set up to use normal 8.5 x 11 paper. So there’s that. I believe I tried it some time back and it didn’t work in my HP multi-function printer; however, I have another idea for you. This is 140 lb paper. If you are looking for heavier paper than normal, abs not specifically watercolor paper- here’s a thought. I have used the Nenah 8.5 x11, 110 lb paper and that runs fine through my printer. I use that to print free images I’ve found online and I do coloring that way. I can color with watercolor pencils abs then go over it with my water/aqua brushes. They only let a teeny bit of water out at a time and that paper holds up. It also holds up great with markers and no bleed-thru. I have used the Crayola fine tip markers, Tombow, the Bic markers that are similar to sharpies and those come in ulta fine and fine tip, as well, and others. I have on order some 120 lb paper to try and 1) see if it will work for water coloring printed images & 2) go through my printer. I haven’t used the Neenah 110 lb for my actual watercolor paints, because I don’t think it would hold up. I’m not a real artist, I just do it for fun, and make cards, for stress relief, etc.

can you just put it on the easel? Or you need to put a piece of paper on the drawing board?

There are 30 sheets attached at the top of this pad. You can put the whole pad on an easel or you can take one sheet and use it on a drawing board. I hope that helps!

Lovely paper!

I was worried when I saw the negative reviews after purchasing as I had been recommended this paper through an art class I'm taking, so as soon as it arrived I did a test paint and it is lovely to work on. The price was really reasonable considering it's 30 sheets and I usually pay the same for only 12. I prefer this paper to the more expensive one too.

Good quality paper for watercolour practice

I am happy with the quality of this paper as it works out pretty well for my watercolour practice. It can take a lot of water, but I find it dries fast. Not easy to do much wet in wet. But overall, it performs well.

For hot press paper a nice quality. I do not use it for watercolor but drawing and practice. Heavy, durable. One side smooth, other with SLIGHT tooth.

This was the very first watercolour journal/paper I ever bought. If you're first starting out in watercolour, I think this is a pretty decent and forgiving journal to buy before you commit to other more expensive brands. As a beginner, it allowed me to practice techniques, tutorials and experiment freely at a fairly affordable price point. However, the textures between the front and back of each sheet seem to be different. The front side of each page is more textured while the back side feels smoother to the touch and is less absorbent, imo. I did not notice the difference until I started using the back pages and consistently disliked the way the paint looked.
