I’ve been trying to learn Japanese for a few years. I’m not a beginner, I lived there for three years and speak ‘functional’ Japanese. I’ve wasted time and effort on apps such as Duolingo and Busso, plus YouTube etc and other text books. This is perfect, lessons are not boring and you grasp the reading, writing and grammar. Can’t rate highly enough!

Not as often recommended by native Japanese speakers, but they don't necessarily know how native English speakers learn. You need to really put in the time to make proper use of these. That being said I can't imagine a better way of learning Japanese, it's very clear and there's an app online to hear all the native pronunciations. Properly engaging with these two books with workbooks you'll be able to read, write, and speak Japanese at an N4 or A2 level. They're designed for use in a class, but honestly you can learn on your own (though it'll likely be a bit slower.)

Non c'è molto da dire, il Genki è sempre stato un ottimo libro di studio per la lingua giapponese, e ora che lo uso (precedentemente studiavo sul Marugoto) capisco anche perché. Ricco di materiali, molto accurato.
