Best Utensils Stainless Steel Turkey BasterFirst impressions of this baster were that it was a quality well built item, just what I had been hoping for. It looked great with it's strong brushed stainless steel body, large soft but strong silicone rubber bulb, along with it's own screw in marinade needle, which again is made from high quality stainless steel. The marinade needle has a small silicone rubber o-ring around the thread to help create a perfect seal. There is also a deep grove around the body of the baster where the rubber bulb fits over the tube to help keep the bulb in place whilst in use.Initially I was impressed and very pleased with my purchase. The above attention to details are the type of things I look for when purchasing a new product. It's clear that a lot of thought has gone into the basters design - Great design with quality materials usually make for a great product.Sadly though, for me there were one or two drawbacks -Being made from stainless steel, whilst basting, the metal body of the baster becomes extremely hot. I have a habit of sucking out all of the fat from a roast near the end of cooking time to help allow as much fat as possible to exit the cooked meat. After a while the baster becomes too hot to hold so I end up holding the baster by it's rubber bulb alone, which then leads onto a second issue I had. This issue is that the bulb easily slips off of the baster tube, several times this has happened spilling hot fat and juices over the worktop.I have since had this baster refunded due to the above issues. The rubber bulb seemed to be a little loose where it slid over the tube, maybe a little more rubber at this point or a smaller hole will cure this? It may well be that I received a faulty item so please don't let my comments put you off as this really is a quality item.In fairness, this is a well made product built from quality materials. I feel if I hadn't had the above problems this may well have given me many years of service. I may have just been unlucky with the baster I received?One other thing worth a mention is that you do need to take care when screwing in the marinade needle, the needle has a fairly course thread so screw it in gently so as not to get it cross threaded which may strip the thread.Contents -1 x Stainless steel baster1 x Marinade needle1 x Cleaning brushIf you have found my review at all helpful I would very much appreciate if you could click the 'Helpful' button below, thank you.

This is very useful and is a good large baster. Useful for the sunday roasts as well as for other uses around the kitchen where you want to draw off some liquid.It is best to make sure you don't turn it upside down when using otherwise the bulb fills with the fat and then it is quite difficult to clean.

Love how this is made from stainless steel rather than glass or plastic which have previously cracked with the high heat. This one seems invincible in comparison. I mainly use this when I make roast potatoes as it makes handling hot oil/butter a lot easier and safer!

This is the 1st metal one I've used. It has it's good and bad points. Good: it holds lots of liquid with ease and suction is very good. Bad: due to the weight it can flop when the rubber gets hot so I'd make sure you always use it upright

This is a great baster, and worth the price paid.The rubber top is thick so I am sure it will last a considerable amount of time. I've had basters previously where the rubber was so thin it tore after a few months - no chance of that here.The metal pipe is of good quality, everything fits together well - no complaints here, a great product!

I received the first dispatch, and liked the overall strong construction. However the screw in the baster was not machined out correctly, and the fine nozzle did not screw in completely, with liquid leaking out. I emailed the supplier who replied promptly and agreed to send out a replacement which would be checked before despatch. The second one arrived, and I am pleased to say that all is fine. I have used and washed it by hand several times After having plastic ones which soon became brittle, I feel that I shall have this one for many years. The brush is very good for cleaning out the baster.

Why I did not get one of these years ago I don't know. Far better than the plastic ones. Just buy it you won't be disappointed. Good suction an holds slot of fluid

Absolutely fabulous,wish i had bought this years ago,glad i bought the one with the little cleaning brush as it makes it that much easier to get down into the very narrow end.And being stainless steel it will cope with all temperatures of liquid.
