I bought this Thermos Stainless King Food Flask for the young one’s lunches and it has been brilliant, well worth the cost. The 710 ml capacity is generous and easily holds a good portion of soup, stew, pasta or a hearty lunch, so there is plenty of space for a proper meal rather than a snack-sized portion. Build quality is exactly what you would expect from Thermos. It is well made and feels robust. The stainless steel construction with the gun metal finish looks smart and holds up well to daily use without showing scratches or wear. The lid screws on securely and seals well, which is reassuring when it is being carried in a school bag. Heat retention is excellent. I preheat it with hot water from the kettle for around 10–15 minutes to warm the flask properly, then add the food. Using it this way, the contents stay piping hot for hours, which makes a real difference. The wide mouth makes it easy to eat straight from the flask with a spoon and also makes cleaning much simpler. It also works well for cold foods or drinks if needed, and there is no condensation on the outside, so bags stay dry. I am very happy with this flask and, as long as the young one does not lose it, it should last for many years to come.

I purchased my twin grandchildren 0.40 L Thermos food flasks when they started secondary school. The flasks are still going strong, but larger upgrades were needed as the grandchildren are now at college & require a more substantial meal. As with the earlier version, the 0.70 L flask is perfect. I filll the flasks with boiling water for as long as possible (sometimes overnight) prior to putting their meal in. 5.5 hours later, the food is still piping hot. A few days ago, my granddaughter didn't get chance to eat lunch & ate it in the car on the way home. 9.5 hours after filling the flask & the meal remained piping hot. The key to keeping food hot is to adequately pre-heat the flask & fill to the top. The larger size weighs much the same as the smaller, older model The flask doesn't leak. I've purchased many Thermos products over the years & can hand on heart say that I've never experienced a problem with any of the products from this company. They're my go to brand & I recommend them.

I bought this especially to put hot food in while I'm doing EDF Sunday Saver from Monday to Friday, where you dont use much electric between 4 and 7pm. I usually manage to 'earn' about 12 hours the following Sunday by switching everything off practically and eating my main meal of the day at lunchtime instead of in the evening. I can't adjust to eating midday instead of evening for some reason so thought I'd buy a food flask so I can make the food midday then put it in the Thermos so I could eat it in the evening. Then at lunchtime just have a snack or do a bit of fridge grazing. It seems to wrok for me. So I needed a reliable thermos that had a big enough neck to put the food in it and then keep it hot for as long as possible. So far it's come out well in the tests, soup, pasta dishes etc. I'm pleased to report it keeps whatever I put in there very hot as if I'd just made it so it's ideal. As for the size, I wasnt sure which to get, the 500 or the 750ml version. I didn't think the smaller one would be any good for me as it woulldn't hold enough food, so I went for the bigger one. I'm so glad I did as this one as the 500ml one would have been tiny, and I've had needed a pair to make one decent meal of beef stew and dumplings or chilli etc. I've found if you fill it right to the top almost it will keep the food hotter too. As long as you can get the lid on without the contents squeezing through the screw thread and making a mess. So yes I'd recommend the bigger one for one person who has a normal appetite and the smaller one for maybe someone who's always watching their weight and eats like a bird.

I wanted to use a food flask as a small camping thermal slow cooker for stews and curries and also to be able to carry it in a rucksack as my normal thermal cooker is a bit big and heavy for that. To see if it would work as a thermal cooker I needed to check the Thermos temperature retention. The flask was pre-heated with water at 97°C. The flask was then filled with water at 97°C. After 8 hours the water in the flask was at 60°C. The surrounding room temperature was 20°C. The silver cap was warm showing some heat loss at the cap. I put a thin round of plastic foam packing sheet under the silver cap and repeated with water at 97°C again and left it overnight. After 10 hours the water in the flask was at 69°C. After 14 hours the water in the flask was at 60°C. The cap stayed cool with the extra insulation, so heat loss through the cap was reduced. The room temperature was between 18-20°C overnight. That should be fine to use as a thermal slow cooker once any stew or curry is heated initially in a saucepan or to keep pre-cooked food hot for a day out. If the ambient temperature is low when camping a towel wrapped round the flask or a small insulated lunch bag would slow heat loss more. The only criticisms I have are that the cap needs better insulating and it only holds 150ml filled to the brim so is a bit small to be used as a bowl for the food. Otherwise it is a good flask for my needs.

Great! Bought it so I could save money at tearooms when I go exploring castles around Scotland. Looked online how to propperly use thermos and people were saying to put boiling water in it, close tightly and leave for 5-10 minutes, then pour water out and put pipping hot food straight away and close the lid quickly. I put my soup in it at 7:30 am at 12:00 when I opened it was still boiling hot to eat. Had to leave it with lid open to cool down for 30 minutes and still it was too hot. Random cat came smelling my soup)) gonna buy same brand but smaller one for my son, as he had cheaper flask from primark and his food was barelly warm, although I did same steps and prepared it at sane time.

Really Good, Durable perfect size especially as I want to control my portion size.

I have been using thermos products for over 7 years now and I have never regretted spending money on them. Keeps my food and drink hot for over 24 hrs

Il thermos è spettacolare! L’ho comprato per mio marito che è costretto per motivi di lavoro, a pranzare sempre fuori. Cercavo un prodotto che mi consentisse di fargli portare un pasto sano e mangiarlo caldo! E non potevo scegliere di meglio. Preparo il cibo la mattina alle 6 e alle 14 (ma abbiamo constatato che arriva anche oltre) resta caldissimo. Le zuppe addirittura restano bollenti. Se si ha l’accortezza di riempirlo per 10 minuti con acqua bollente e poi una volta svuotato inserire il cibo caldo, la durata è assicurata! Se preparate la pasta consiglio di scolarla molto tempo prima dei minuti indicati perché mantenendo il calore, la pasta rischia di scuocersi. Lo consiglio vivamente.

Uso mucjo esta marca porqué es fiable y mantiene los alimentos y las bebidas calientes. En verano lo uso con hielo dentro y mantiene frio por mucho tiempo

Am besten gefällt mir an diesem Behälter die Größe, die ich auch bei keiner anderen Seite so finden konnte. Ich habe bisher immer erst heißes Wasser in den Behälter gegeben, um ihn schon vorzuwärmen, während das Essen in der Mikrowelle ist. Morgen um halb acht befüllt, sind Reis und Hühnchen mittags perfekt warm. Wenn der Behälter voll ist, hat man wirklich eine große Portion, die ich eigentlich nie brauche. Praktisch ist das allerdings für Leute mit größerem Appetit oder wenn man Lebensmittel mitnimmt, die einfach mehr Volumen brauchen. Die kleinere Größe von Thermos hatte ich im Laden mal gesehen und die erschien mir einfach zu klein. Mit der 710 ml Version bin ich rundum zufrieden. Ausgelaufen ist bisher auch noch nichts und man kommt mit der Hand gut rein, um einfach saubermachen zu können.

Dieser Thermosbehälter lässt keine Wünsche offen! Er ist leicht zu „bedienen“ und hält das Essen wirklich wie versprochen warm. Das Design ist schön und mit dieser Größe passt der Behälter in fast jede Tasche hinein. Ganz wichtig für mich: er hält auch bei Flüssigkeit dicht! Wer also oft Suppe mit transportiert muss kein Ausrinnen befürchten! Das einzige erwähnenswerte Manko: der Behälter an sich ist etwas schwer. Wer ihn also längere Zeit gefüllt mit sich rum trägt sollte lieber einen Rucksack als eine Schultertasche benutzen. Würde ihn auf jeden Fall wieder kaufen!
