This product was just as promised. It fits snuggly on my s23 Ultra, looks FANTASTIC, and keeps it secure. I am extremely accident prone, so a good case is important to me. I've already dropped my phone like 30 times in the month I've had it, and not only is the phone protected, the case still looks brand new (not bad considering around 10 of those times were on concrete from a height of around 4 feet). Major bonus points for the raised edges around the front of the phone to help protect your screen when you place it facedown. Button placement is good, if I had to pick one thing that can be a bit of a pain is getting my pen out when it is fully clicked "clicked" into my phone. I've found its easier to to "unclick" it, and it is easier to grab. The case has enough friction to allow for an easy grip, so my phone doesn't just slide out of my hands, and it manages to make this giant phone easier to weld in my smaller hands. I also love that this case is clear, because for the first time, I have phone in the color I love (the purple/lavender) and I want to show it off...and for when I'm feeling whimsical, I'll put a picture or sticker between the phone and case for that little bit of extra. Honestly? I don't know how you've gotten to the end of the rambling review without buying this case, dude. Get on that, dude, and just get it!

This is my short and sweet review for the Civilian series case for the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. This is my third Civilian case. The other two were for the S22 Ultra and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. (I'm incapable of learning from my mistakes.) The aesthetics and build quality are what really draw me to this style. The good: It's clean and minimalist with a little bit of Orange color for some added flair. I like the styling of this case as I think some of UAG's other designs are a little bit busy looking. The problem: The Orange accent stains pretty much immediately when placing your phone in your pocket as seen in one of the photos. The smooth/lightly textured plastic on the back also doesn't hold up very well and was showing scratches on day one. This has been an issue for every one of these cases for me. The good: The case is pretty light and thin, but also incredibly robust. It has saved my phone from the concrete on multiple occasions at this point. The problem: There is very little in the way of grip or texture, which has ultimately led to the phone slipping out of my hand or off of my lap and hitting the concrete the case is meant to save the phone from. Mission accomplished, I guess? The verdict: I'd like to see UAG maybe add some texturing on the sides of the case to aid in grip when the phone is in your hand. I'd also like to see the orange maybe replaced with a less stain prone material, or just replaced with black instead to sidestep the issue entirely. My phone is still immaculate despite hitting the ground on multiple occasions, so the case is doing its job. 4/5 Ultimately, I think I'm going to move to the Pathfinder series as it seems to offer a little more in the areas that I find this case lacking.

I have been buying UAG cases for every Android model I've purchased year after year. They are simple, one piece, snap-in designs that are thick and tough.

Review for the UAG Monarch Kevlar edition for the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: UAG was attentive to detail with the design of this case as I attempted to demonstrate with my pictures. You'll notice that the lip protection around the camera array is significantly raised. Good enough for drop protection on uneven surfaces like pavement. You'll also notice that the lip protection above and below the screen is decently raised too. Also, good enough for drop protection on slightly uneven surfaces. There is even a very slight raised lip to the side edges of the case too. Although, not enough for drop protection. Perhaps, enough for scratch protection should the phone slide across an edged object. Finally, you'll notice that on the back of the case there are raised bumps at some of the corners. They align with the slight protrusion from the case's camera array lip to allow for the case to lay flat and slightly raised above an even surface while on it's backside. You can see from my pics the gap between the case and the flat surface while laying on it's face and while laying on it's backside. So, I feel there is good drop protection with this case. The case itself is solid and feels natural in the hand. The rubber exterior is grippy enough to prevent it from sliding down when leaned on an angle. Overall, I'm very impressed with this case. It appears to offer significant drop protection. I believe it's a worthy competitor to the Otterbox Defender. It's certainly less bulky and is narrower than the Defender in hand.
