Rockler Mini Deluxe Panel Clamps (2-Pack) Four-Way Pressure Clamp Set

Great for glueing up small to mid-size cutting boards. Bought a second set. They do take some practice to use, but once you get the process down, it's not bad.

I have tried many different panel and pipe clamps and these clamps result in tight and flat panels better than others. They are fairly small, but they work so well I also puchased the large version. These clamps are the first I have used with a learning curve - seriously. If you are new to these clamps I suggest going through a dry run on your first panel since they take some getting used to. Sliding the bars through the end clamps can be challenging especially if in a hurry because the glue is setting. The extra effort is worth it though because the results are excellent.

These clamps work very well to hold your wood evenly. They can be a little clumsy to use. I started placing a thicker piece of wood in the clamp to hold it open while I inserted the pieces I'm gluing, then removing it before tightening. Overall, they do the job they are designed to do.

Love these things and love they came with a wall mount. If you're using these for panels consider getting the larger ones instead. These are more cutting board size. Large cutting boards but you get the idea. You could manage to do cutting boards with the larger ones by putting a spacer in. Either way, if the size is right for you then you'll love these.

I had quite a bit of frustration when first trying these. Happy that I did several practice setups before attempting with glue. They don’t hold wood slats as even for length I had hoped. I used 2 clamps for a 24” long charcuterie board and the ends were not even. Taking a lot of sanding. It was also my first attempt so could be some operator error. Blogs stated 2 clamps would be fine for this length but I am going to use more in the future. I will use one on each end, very close to edge. Then use 1-2 in middle for anything 24” or longer.

Not easy to work with. Very frustrating. I do have a system down now where it’s much easier to use them, but can still get frustrating. I ended up using strips of wood covered in clear packaging tape and I clamp them across my glued boards to keep them even. So much easier than the panel clamps. They are a good idea but I think Rockler needs to redesign them, maybe with a designated bottom that is longer than the top so the screw handle does not get caught.

These should work well for a long time. Well made. Tough to get the hang of setting them up. Springs make it tough to get everything in place, however, that's just inexperience and will improve with use. Good clamps.

I wish Amazon gave you the ability to give certain items 0 stars because this is the most poorly engineered set of clamps I’ve owned. I read reviews complaining of similar issues but the manufacturer makes nice stuff so I thought the reviews were crazy. I watch a few YouTube videos before they arrived to make sure I knew how to use them. I did a few dry runs, everything was great. I added glue and what happened next was a fecal hurricane of epic proportion. I go to tighten clamps and the flat piece that goes against the board shot up and went sideways. I’m like what the hen. So I try again, same thing. I move the clamp around. I tap, I swear, I pray and I even yelled, “In the name of Jesus, work ye piece of junk”. Nothing helped. If I had friends I would have phoned one or all but here I was, alone in my woodshop, glue oozing and drying and my clamps failed me. I did finally get them to kind of work, but it was literally after the glue was almost dry. In the interim I pulled out my trust, rusty bar clamp and that worked like a charm. If you don’t want to find yourself alone in your woodshop with glue drying as you cry out to the Lord for forgiveness in hopes that he will allow your poorly engineered bar clamps to work, pass on these. While they bring you closer to God, they add little to no value to your shop.

Solid quality on this product! One of the unexpected features I really like about these clamps is that the coating they used on the clamping bars resists binding with wood glue! Super easy to break the board free and easy to clean. I'm eyeing up the larger clamps now but need to save a few sheckles.

Excellent Rockler clamps, too bad the large version not available for shipping! Set up nicely for stable glue up.
