Used one of these membranes in a maple RO for 3 years so far. Works well. I always check for passing sugar and it continues to stay at 0

I purchased both the RO housing and this membrane from Max Water (sold on amazon). In a nutshell, I needed to build a RO system for my maple syrup business. My understanding is that a 4040 RO membrane and housing are standard sizes. At first glance, everything appears to be normal, except that a port on the housing was stripped out. While you're prefer not to see that, I was a plumber for enough years that I made it work. Unfortunately, after assembling the unit, the RO membrane was allowed to move inside the housing when pressure is applied, causing concentrate to leak into the permeate port of the unit. In short, it does not operate as it should. I contacted customer support on three or four different occasions asking for assistance (clearly something was missing or not to specs) and they were not helpful. Honestly, I was given the impression that the representative was just googling installation instructions rather than addressing the problem despite the unit being installed correctly. In the end, I was told that I need to buy new parts for the RO housing that I literally just bought from them (brand new, never used before this). Of course, the o-rings and caps that they offer are not cheap, not sold on amazon, and may or may not be better quality than the stuff they already supplied me. I, like a lot of hobby maple syrup producers, use these units to filter water from maple sap. It's the peak of the season and my RO doesn't operate as it should. Very disappointed and will not purchase anything more from this seller. In the end, I think I'm just missing an adaptor or shims that should have been included, but seller is not familiar enough with the product to know that. I can't recommend this product.
