Bought this to convert a straight laptop docking cable to L shape. Done the job properly. I used some black electrical tape to hold the USB cable to it as it wasn’t a solid connection, and I don’t need to open it again as is permanently connected to the laptop which is on a vertical stand. So far it works for charging and transferring data for the display, the claim of 40Gbps I’m not sure of, have not had a chance to test it.

Dose what it says on the casn

They feel solidly made and attach firmly. Charging and data seem OK but my monitor needs to resync the signal a few times per minute, giving several seconds of black screen. This does not happen without this adapter connected, and the same happens with two MacBooks.

HAve bought a few of these now to use in TB ports to help cable direction and they work perfectly and seem sturdy enough. Just what I wanted and at a reasonable price, given I have bought four lots I clearly think they do what I need.
