Full Metal Alchemist Ultimate Edition [Blu-ray]

FMA is one of my all time favourite shows so when i saw this advertised i was a bit apprehensive, just due to the price. that was only because they completely undersell what you are getting with this. if you do not have the original on blu ray and are thinking about getting it you will know how hard it is just trying to find copies. but thanks to Scott MacAulay and his review (with pictures of the gate) and i decided to go for it. and let me tell you if you are on the fence. this is a MUST buy for any die hard fan of FMA. The gate is heavy and will need an automail arm to actually lift this thing lol. but the detail on it is amazing and it proudly takes centre stage on my shelf and always get compliments about it, the art book is huge also and an excellent touch along with the art cards, it also comes with the collectors edition blu ray cases in white and black, now the only gripe i have with this is the white box does get scuff marks when you open or close the gate but honestly is something ill happily deal with. the price is steep but i honestly think it is worth it. i just hope they do the same thing for brotherhood because i would get that as well. i honestly can't believe how underwhelming the description makes this sound they completely undersell this amazing item

Perfect for any die-hard fan of Fullmetal Alchemist. "The Gate" is large, detailed and definitely as heavy as people say! Inside The Gate are two collector's edition BluRay boxes containing all episodes of the original series. It also comes with a large Artbook which is beautiful. My only gripe with the whole thing is that The Gate seems to leave some marking on the white Blu-ray box which is unfortunate but can't be helped. The whole package came sealed upside down which was also annoying but not a reason the not buy the product. I got the product at a good low price of £146 and for what you gets it's a steal!

I have this version and it truly is the Ultimate Anime Collection!! The whole thing comes in a full resin replica of The Gate and it's all hand painted, looks amazing and WEIGHS A TON!!!!! Also, the book that comes with it isn't your usual accompanying book that you get with most other collectors edition - this thing is a massive, very high quality hardback with great content. All the Anime - the people who made this whole collection, should be very proud of themselves for doing an excellent anime series the justice it deserves with a high quality Blu-Ray release. I still can't get over how good it really is and what a way to store your Blu-Rays! (inside The Gate, held together with very strong magnets and with awesome, super high quality art cards inside too).

Oh man this thing actually has a bonus?!? I was not expecting the Blu-rays to come packaged in a replica of the Gate of Truth lol its so heavy!

So the images amazon show don’t show the case, but yes this set does come with the gate and it is super heavy and high quality, I don’t know how these are still in stock here but get one while you can! It’s such a cool piece to go with this series

Un coffret très chouette, bien présenté, de belle qualité. La figurine d'Alphonse est étonnamment bien faite et plutôt sympathique même si j'avoue que ce n'est vraiment pas ce qui m'a motivée pour cet achat. Les bonus sont appréciables et la présentation soignée. Quant à la série, maintenant, je suis définitivement fan, l'histoire de ces deux frères soudés par un drame qui ravage leur enfance, qui partent en quête pour réparer leur erreur. De l'action, de l'humour le tout porté par une histoire riche en émotions, au ton parfois grave et qui amène une réflexion intéressante. Une animation très soignée et une BO tout à fait correcte. Enfin une VF de grande qualité, assez rare pour être souligné, c'est la première fois que je préfère la VF à la VO. Elle retranscrit parfaitement l'ambiance de la série. Bref une excellente série, bien présenté dans un beau coffret.
