An amazing little book that will change the way you see your business and your life!
When I discovered the Rainforest by Victor Hwang, I was immediately sure that this book could bring a major paradigm change in the way we built startups: instead of the usual vision, mission, detailed plan, implementation steps, where future employees will just have "to do their work" by executing the tasks assigned to them, the book suggested to focus on building the structure, the communications and exchange networks.. And let the actors interact in a sentient and collaborative way. This reminded me of the self-assembly processes found in nanotechnology and discussions on "the wisdom of the crowd". I simply had to find a way to apply the concepts to a real life business case. The problem was still to distill the rules from a very complete and dense book. The book explain "why" as well as the "how". I wanted to separate the how. So I started to write down a few ideas (thank you Evernote). This little, beautiful, and easy to read book does it wonderfully. I have used it, recommended it to my students (bachelor and MBA level), executives in companies I work with. It is literally changing their perception of their organizations and as dramatically increased their focus and awareness.By one now, by more for your friends. They will thank you!

Decent
I couldn't imagine reading a full book, "the detailed roadmap," on this subject, so this "framework" is just about right. I ran into all this stuff in my MBA organizational behavior course - culture, authenticity, bla bla bla; here an organization is called a rainforest. On the other hand, sometimes saying the same thing in a different way is good if it reaches you more effectively; I liked some of the actionable steps that are suggested. Specifically, I liked the part entitled "Do the What, Measure the How."As far as productivity and innovation being the antithesis of each other, I found that to be a bit of an oversimplification; this whole book is all about following specific processes so one can innovate productively.Might be a good quick reference if you are aware of what you are reading.

To the point
In a rush for knowledge— read this. However, try to complement readings with The Main book to complement concepts and theories. Very friendly and easy read.

required reading for Read 2 Lead!
There are so many good books out there on diversifying the economy by developing an entrepreneurial ecosystem, but I've never quoted or tweeted any single book more than this because its simple & profound. AND the blueprint makes it highly engaging & actionable. Very nice indeed!

Four Stars
My expectation was to find more reals examples of the "knowledge's flow" in the Rainforest's environment.

A quick read to help reframe and remind
In only 15-minutes, you can cover the main topics and structure of the complete book, and it's a great refresher to carry with you when recharging the leadership batteries or preparing for some seeding, cultivating, or nourishing of your rainforest and its inhabitants. Enjoy!
