Richmond's Monument Avenue Hardcover – April 30, 2001

This book is beautifully done, full of photos both black-and-white and full color, with explanatory textual accompaniment. Alas, they're pulling these stones down in dear old Richmond as the city suffers an invasion of heathens and anarchists. I'm no Confederate rebel, but history is worth preserving, just as good books should not be censored. I heard yesterday that now they've come after George Washington's statue and have defaced the Lincoln Monument. Buy this book: it's your last chance to see these fine statuary set so serenely amidst a sylvan avenue.

This book has been in high demand sense Confederate statues have been defaced and removed. Fetching as high as $400+. I finally got one at a reasonable price, yet I'm disappointed in the publication. I had hoped it featured all the monuments on Richmonds Monument Avenue featuring each monument, its history, dedication pictures etc. That wasn't the case. The book was more based on contemporary facts on a select few monuments.
