Polk Audio Atrium 2 sats Outdoor Speakers (100W) White

The Amazon prices of these has varied a fair bit. For the just over £200 I paid, I'd say they were spot on. They're big speakers, easy to fit and with nice big terminals so you don't have to use thin bellwire. The sound itself is plenty loud and reasonably good with a reasonable amount of bass. As they're being used outdoors it's hard to say if they're brilliant, as the acoustics are far from a home cinema or similar. But they certainly sound good enough while out on the patio eating breakfast. I mentioned the price earlier, when I first looked they were £377... and at that price I'd say they're a bit on the rich side. They're still good, but as I say without controlled environment, and no sub, there's only so much they can do.

Because of the technical demands of making them weatherproof I worried the sound quality may be a little disappointing. Glad to say it's not - they sound great. Good build quality and design and fixing. My tips would be : a) glad I went for the Atrium 6 (my guess is the smaller cheaper ones don't sound quite as good - but if taking the trouble to fit outdoor speakers it's worth going for these) b) before finalising the fixing try to experiment with best location for sound (and to minimise weather exposure) - given your typical listening position. My only concern is that all members of the household remember not to annoy the neighbours with loud music! Luckily they sound pretty good at low volumes also. For years in my summer house I had regular indoor speakers - the more exposed of which had to be kept under a bucket - so this is an awesome improvement. The white speakers also look very good against a white wall.

Superb quality speakers that were easy to install. Must be the best value on the market. Got them in white and my client loves them.

Great external speakers. I drive them with a NAD D7050, and the sound is amazing. Very precise imaging and good bass. They go pretty loud without distortion. The amp is expensive, but the speakers are good enough to justify a really good amp.
