I've been on Nexium (40mg) for GERD and Barrett's about 20-some years and have never had any negative issues with it. Its always worked great for me. MY insurance company recently stopped providing benefits for Nexium and tried to get me on Omeprezole (pseudo-prilosec). I'm here to tell you, at least for me, Prilosec and Nexium ARE NOT the same! After one month on 40mg generic prilosec, I had issues with GERD at night (waking me up) and always a faint headache. Now, after paying for generic Nexium and using it for about a week, I can say I haven't had the middle of the night wake ups and the headaches are GONE! I guess I'm one of those Nexium poster boys...nothing else works for me.

I mean, it works, I just recommend not using every single day. If you use these long term you will end up having to take them every day for the rest of your life and you will build a tolerance which will make it useless. Only use as needed and ask your doctor about this. Size is normal as expected
