Lightweight 12 strand splice-able 1.6mm line perfect for making lightweight tarp ridge lines, clotheslines, etc for hammocks and backpacking. I bought this line specifically for my tarp and clothesline while backpacking. Use 2.7mm or larger for any type of hammock support.

This is an interesting product with rope-like strength in a size resembling heavy thread. As I expected, it is slippery, so I use knots designed for braided fishing line.

The media could not be loaded.  Total rip off… Photo and description is nothing like what you get you can see how small the spool is so I was totally misled. What a rip off for $12.

When I saw this cord it was advertised as useful for "Hammock, Tarp, Tent, Kite, Fishing, Climbing, Camping, Kayak, Sailboat." Because I like to do a lot of outdoor activities I asked Amazon to review it.I was very surprised, to say the least when I got this cord. It came in a different spool than pictured on the web and the cord was as small as most string. You can see from the picture that it is the same thickness as a dime. I have also put it next to an ordinary needle to demonstrate how small it is. I doubt that I would ever use it for a hammock, and certainly not climbing, kayaking, or sail boating. I probably would not use it for flying a kite because it is so small it would cut your fingers if a strong wind pulled the kite very far.Why did I give it 4 stars? This is a very strong braided cord and can be useful for many things. Because it is the size of string I have some big sewing needles I use for camping that I could thread with this cord and repair a lot of things. I have stitched up backpacks, tents, and clothing with very heavy thread, thick dental floss, and string. It might not be pretty but it works. This cord might be better than what I have used in the past. I will carry it in my pack because it has the potential to fix many problems that could arise. I could even see using it to secure a tent. It might also be handy to build an emergency shelter.

This product is used in my swimming pool and after a couple months neither the sun nor the pool chemicals have caused it deteriorate.
