What a Waste!!
I was so pleased when I saw that Amazon.com had the book I needed for class, including the access code. As soon as I saw this book was available for almost $100 less than our school bookstore, I told several of my classmates. I even put up a post on our school forum that Amazon was a great source to purchase books.I had the item in my Amazon wishlist for my father to order my books after school started so that I would be sure that I got exactly what my professors wanted us to have. I was in the hospital having surgery and recovering when he ordered my books and they were received.Imagine my shock, three weeks into the semester that the book that I had in my Amazon wishlist that had the access code in the description, did not have the access code included. Now, I'm already behind in my coursework, but I'm also going to have to deal with returning the book and purchasing another.Oh and to top it off, every day this week when I've checked the prices, it's gone up! It was going to cost me about $30 before and within days it will cost me about $50-$60!I'm so disappointed in Amazon, as a seller. I also can't believe how many people I encouraged to order through Amazon using Amazon books. I'm going to upload this review to our school forum and tell everyone I know not to trust buying books from Amazon that are supposed to have digital/access code components!

Difficult content taught by a rare expert
This book is the first of its kind intended to teach the workers of the information age coming to healthcare. Richard Gartee has decades of experience in the field as a teacher. In addition, he has the unique insight of having been part of the development of the industry itself. Few people could write this book in the way he has done. The examples demonstrate to the novice the importance of the information. The content explains why and how healthcare information technology centered on the electronic health record will work to improve access, reduce cost and increase patient safety.

I thought it would come with the CD when it arrived but now I will have to pay an additional $25 to get the online part of the lesson. I am disappointed about the interactive part of the order but the book itself was in excellent condition and it came to me in a very timely fashion. I would have appreciated the CD for the interactive part of the book but I will be more careful the next time I order a book for a class online.

This is more of a work book than book. Wish it would go over certain things more and not just do one exercise and consider it done. Not sure I learned much from this.
