Onkyo A-9010 Integrated Stereo Amplifier

Si llegaste hasta aquí es porque (como yo) estás buscando un buen amplificador stereo a buen precio.Ahora, para no apresurarme a escribir una reseña a las 2 horas de usarlo, preferí esperar 1 mes a hacerlo, porque en ese tiempo uno se puede dar bien cuenta de los pros y contras del aparato.Si quieres mi opinión sin leer toda la reseña, solo puedo decirte que SI lo compres. Aunque te recomiendo que te esperes a que Amazon lo ponga en oferta (sucede más seguido de lo que puedas pensar). Es un excelente amplificador.Existen muchos amplificadores de buenas marcas como Yamaha, Sony, Pioneer de precios incluso más bajos. Por supuesto hay otros como McIntosh con precios estelares. Sin irnos muy lejos yo solo quiería una cosa y solo una: armar un set estereo compuesto de 3 cosas: 1 tornamesa de calidad media pero bien reseñada, un para de bocinas de gama hi fi bien reseñadas y por último un aplificador integrado que no fuera costoso y por supuesto con buenas calificaciones.Lo único con lo que contaba son con las bocinas, unas viejas Monitor Audio Silver de excelente calidad (con 10 años de uso cuidadoso) Como tormanesa me decidí por una ProJect Debut Carbon (excelente).Vaya trio, me ha dado una más que grata sorpresa y realmente estoy sorprendido de lo que puede hacer este pequeño Onkyo.El amplificador es muy básico, es pequeño y ligero. No esperes transformador toroidal ni construcción de roca. Es de alguna manera "elegante" y "guapo". Estéticamente no tiene problemas. Luce bien y se integra perféctamente a la decoración. La gran perilla de volúmen, al centro le da cierto aire snob. Sería interesante que tuviera un LED para saber donde se encuentra al encenderlo ya que el amplificador carece de muchos LEDS, haciéndolo dificil de leer en la noche. Uno se debe acercar.Sonido.Aclamado por la crítica, premiado por WhatHiFi! como amplificador del año, reseñas por doquier, la gran mayoría buenas. Todo bien hasta aquí, pero ¿realmente suena bien?La respuesta es SI, si suena muy bien pero tienes que saber sacarle jugo. Yo lo estoy usando para 3 cosas: Oir viniles, después video y por ultimo CD's, en ese orden.Para oir viniles te recomiendo NO usar el phono pre amp del amplificador, simplemente no es bueno y su sonido es demasiado flat. No agudos, no graves y medios muy apagados. Lo que hice fué conectar un pre amp dedicado (que ya tenía) y alli la cosa cambió. Excelente calidad de sonido. Así que te recomiendo comprar un pre amp por separado. Si haces esto; los viniles cobran vida y se escuchan espectacular. La manera que tiene este pequeño amplificador de hacer sonar la música es bastante divertida, es rítmico, es preciso, tiene imagen, foco, es una delicia.Después de tantos años de escuchar sonido digital comprimido me he vuelto a concentrar en sonido analógico de 2 canales. Maravilloso. Ha hecho sonar mis Monitor Audio Silver como nuncha las había escuchado. ¡Les dió vida!DAC.DAC 24 bit Wolfson lo debe decir todo. Esta unidad fué concebida en Japón pero tuneada en UK, y dieron en el clavo. El sonido de este pequeño Onkyo es bastante bueno y se acerca mucho pero mucho a amplificadores de 5 veces su precio, amplificadores de 40k sin ningún problema.El DAC hace maravillas y reproduce fielmente los discos compactos y en sí las fuentes digitales. me encanta como suena, Agudos cristalinos, nítidos y bien definidos, medios hermosos, llenos de cuerpo y vida, bajos profundos, realmente profundos.Recomiendo usar fibra óptica o coaxial digital para sacar provecho del DAC. Tiene 2 entradas, una óptica y una coaxial. En la óptica tengo un Apple TV vía la TV (salida óptica) y en coaxial tengo el CD player. Si hay una gran diferencia de sonido si usas el DAC de tu CD al DAC del Onkyo. En mi caso me gustó más como suena si uso el Wolfson.Que tenga 44 Watts me asustó en un inicio, pero luego quedé calmado porque los aplica todos y cada uno de ellos de manera precisa y uniforme.Es muy potente y son problemas puede mover unas torres Bowers & Wilkins serie 6 sin ningún problema y vaya que retumban.Estoy muy contento con la compra y creo que si eliges bien los componentes te vas a ahorrar mucho dinero.Recomiendo también que esperes a una oferta en Amazon para sacarle más provecho.+ ME GUSTA+DAC Wolfson espectacular+Excelente escala musical+Imagen STEREO centrada y bien abierta+Medios espectaculares+Buen bass+Buen treble (puede mejorar un par de rayitas)+Simple y sencillo+Facil de operar+Pequeño+No se asusta con bocinas grandes+Bien construido+Estéticamente es agradable+Gran perilla de volúmen+Buen match con Monitor Audio+Excelente mancuerna con Apple TV 4k conectada por fibra óptica. Depende mucho de la calidad de las fuentes para que suene bien o mal. Esto puede ser bueno o malo. Depende de gustos personales.-Debes subir el volumen mucho para apreciar el punch.-A bajos volúmenes se comporta tímido.En conclusión puedo resumir que este es un gran amplificador, suena mejor que muchos y más costosos equipos. Me ha satisfecho de manera especial y vale la pena no solo comprar uno sino más para otras áreas como oficina, etc.ACTUALIZACIÓN A 1 AÑO DE USO CONTINUOSolo quiero agregar que todo se mantiene en orden y quiero agregar que la entrada óptica es excepcionalmente buena con Apple TV. Los videos de Youtube en HD se escuchan espectacular.Amazon ya lo tiene de línea a 5 mil y cacho de pesos. Por más detallitos que pueda tener, se lleva de calle a todos y accedes a un excelente amplificador a un precio muy pero muy bueno. No creo que vayas a encontrar algo mejor por menos de 6k.Tenemos un ganador aquí.

Nice, very nice indeed. I upgraded from a Onkyo TX-8255 Receiver to the Onkyo A-9010. The TX-8255 was great, and for what it cost, is a great receiver that I enjoyed for a few years. The A-9010 is a definite step up for me in Hi-Fi sound. It sounds tighter, and is more lively than the TX-8255, it'll get your foot tapping for sure, plus it still has a smooth sound. It might not be high end hi-fi, but it's damn sure knocking hard on the door. Love It!Update 1-14-2017:After 2-3 weeks with the Onkyo A-9010 I am still enjoying it, but with reservations. It does have a somewhat bright sound when volume is turned up to 1200 and beyond. Don't get me wrong, it is a fine integrated amp, with a lot of excitement and tight bass. I won't return it, because there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, and I don't want to abuse the return policy, but I'll probably go for a warmer sounding int amp in the future, maybe even a tube type. The A-9010 is great at what it does, remote works great, and don't let the 44wpc rating fool you, it'll crank loud enough to get the cops at your house in a second. In conclusion, great int amp, but if you want something warm sounding I'd look elsewhere. My last Onkyo TX-8255 Receiver was warm sounding, but it does not have the dynamic impact of this A-9010, so it depends on what you like in your sound. I'd still say it's a great buy, and stick with the 5 star rating.Update 2-1-2017:That'll do Pig, that'll do. This is a hell of an amp. After a lot of hours of listening, this amp has settled in, and it is amazing. I'll never sell it, I may try others out of curiosity, but this amp is special. Highly recommend this for anybody that appreciates fine amplification. Best $300 I ever spent.Update 2-18-2017:Still loving the Onkyo A-9010. Been thinking about trying a different int-amp, like Rega Brio 2017, Cambridge Audio CXA60, or Marantz PM7005, but to be honest this thing sounds so wonderful, and I'm really enjoying it so much it seems silly for me to do that. It's the best sounding amp I've had so far. Not the most powerfull, but I like the sound of it better than anything I've had before, which includes, an old McIntosh MC2100, a Jolida JD-1501A, NAD, Adcom, Harmon Kardon, and more. I'm baffled how Onkyo made this to sound so great, but only cost $300. I could tell people that didn't know better I paid $1500, and if they didn't see it, and could only heart it, they'd believe it.Update 4-7-2017: I bought and tried a Marantz PM-7005, and after listening to it for over 2 weeks, I returned it for refund. I like the sound of the Onkyo A-9010 better, but don't get me wrong, the Marantz was a fine int/amp, and built like a tank. I just enjoy the more livelier presentation of the Onkyo. If I had to say what the Onkyo excels at, it would be horns and drums, and the Marantz excels at human voice, which it does beautifully. Next I may try the Cambridge Audio CXA60, I hear it is very lively.

El equipo proporciona 44 watts de salida por canal utilizando la tecnología WRAT. El equipo tiene una gran cantidad de entradas analógicas (5) más entrada Phono y a diferencia del modelo europeo incluye dos entradas digitales óptica y coaxial que gracias a su convertidor digital/analógico Wolfson WM8718 puede manejar señales PCM de hasta 192 kHZ y 24 bits de resolución. El sistema incluye las opciones "direct" para escuchar un sonido puro sin ningún procesamiento y la opción "Loudness" para mejorar la escucha a niveles bajos. El modo direct es la opción ideal para disfrutar el sonido hifi. La fidelidad del equipo es realmente muy buena, la sensación de calidez y de amplitud escénica se disfruta particularmente con fuentes analógicas como la de Phono. Money for nothing de Dire Straits a la mitad del volumen nos lleva a estar frente al estudio de grabación: La potencia de la batería inicial y los riffs de Mark Knopfler se escuchan de lujo. Con un track de Jazz grabado totalmente en analógico tal como Killer Joe de Quincy Jones, nos transporta a la era de las grabaciones en directo. Realmente se percibe la presencia física de las trompetas y la batería, los coros se escuchan bastante cálidos. En fin, pudiera seguir hablando de muchas más bondades del equipo, lo que puedo decir finalmente es que vale cada peso que cuesta. Totalmente recomendable.

Excelente amplificador, muchas entradas para conectar casi todo, potencia y fidelidad, sólo aprecio algo de ruido en la entrada phono, con los audífonos puestos, por lo demás excelenteedito:el ruido phuno era por un cable optico del cromeaudio, ahora esta excelente.

Overall, I find the Onkyo A-9010 to be a very enjoyable listen. Like some other reviewers have mentioned, don't let the 44 watts per channel fool you. This baby has plenty of power to drive most speakers, even at loud volumes. I have my A-9010 paired with Paradigm 5se MKII speakers, and the music is full and detailed. I primarily listen to CD's (yes, I know they are not hipster-friendly, but I do feel they sound better than vinyl), and they sound richer and fuller than they have ever sounded. I play them trough the Onkyo C-7030 CD player, another Onkyo purchase I am very pleased with. I do not have a turntable hooked up to it, so I can't judge the phono stage, although reviews by others have been mixed.The only issue I have is with the very low-end bass response of the A-9010. Some types of music with really heavy bass, like some metal and EDM, for example, don't seem to have as much "oomph" as with my other, older Onkyo amp, which is the TX-SR507, an AV amp with 70 watts per channel (5.1). This is most noticeable at louder volumes. Overall, though, sound quality out of the A-9010 is much better that the TX-SR507. The A-9010 excels in mid range response, so in order to get more of a bass-heavy sound out of the A-9010, I turn the treble back to about -3, and bass up to between +5 and +10. At those levels the bass sounds warm enough, and still does have enough "oomph" to keep me happy. If you are looking to blast some of the above mentioned music in a large listening room or outside, you will want to get something with a bit more wattage. But if you really enjoy actually "listening" to you music, in stereo, and in a small to moderately sized room, the A-9010 is ideal. Obviously, there are other, more expensive, options out there, but you won't do any better at the A-9010's price. Highly recommended.** Update 7/13/17 **After having this unit for a good 6 months, I have come to really appreciate how it sounds overall. The a-9010 is in my basement "man cave," and is primarily used for listening to music, although I do run my TV and Blu-ray player through it as well. Now when I hear music on my old Onkyo AV receiver in the living room, I can really notice how much better the a-9010 sounds. The a-9010 is much clearer and livelier. While the bass does not have as much "oomph" as the old Onkyo, as I mentioned in my original review, it still has enough to keep me satisfied. I now keep the bass cranked at +10 and the treble at -3, and I was able to improve the bass a bit by plugging the unit directly into the wall instead of into a surge protector. The difference is not drastic, but the bass drum is noticeably punchier than before. Since I don't live in a stormy area I am not too worried about power surges. I also think I my ears have adjusted to "audiophile" sound, as I was not used to hearing more "pure" sound from my amp in the past. You can really turn up the volume and it still sounds excellent, sounds like it has more power than it lists. I have had no volume fluctuation issues with my unit like some others have reported, so I am assuming that Onkyo has taken care of that problem. I still highly recommend this amp for those who are into "deep listening."
